Glow worm cx 30 boiler has packed up

Both need to be open, so its easy, turn B on first, then turn A just bit at a time, not full, then listen for the water flowing. You don't want to open it full, no one ever does. You control the flow that way just like a tap, watch the pressure rise then turn off A then B, Job done.0

Well, I got callback from gas co. They will come on Friday .
So, I thought I would have a go and turn the taps . Trouble is, the water tap on the right is stiff to say the least . It just won't turn.
I'm. Gonna leave it .0 -
I've got it going ! The only thing is the pressure is a little bit higher.
Please tell me I haven't put too much pressure on it .0 -

Well done for persevering.
How much is "a little bit high"?
It would have been better to state what the pressure reads when cold, as it will rise when operating.
If it is up to 1.5 Bar when cold that is OK.0 -
Thanks very much thorganby:)
When I turned on tap b , I obviously was very cautious . I think it has gone to 1.5 . The numbers shot up so fast . Being naive etc I'm grateful there is not an explosion . :rotfl: However, with gas etc I treat it with respect . I noticed that the wooden flooring heated up right away . I'm hooefully over worrying0 -
The pressure is at o.6 while it is heating up the flat. On the sticker on the boiler , it says anything below o.5 will mean the boiler will not work. It seems all is ok .0

No 0.6 Bar is not OK and you run the risk of it not firing up tomorrow morning after it has completely cooled down.
The manufacturers states to set the pressure at 1.0 Bar to protect the boilers heat exchanger and 0.6 Bar is simply not enough - to near to the cut-off point and lockout. It won't matter if you get it slightly over 1.0 Bar i.e. 1.3 etc. but you really should set it as recommended. If you do put too much pressure in, you can simply bleed a rad to reduce it again.0 -
Thanks thorganby. I suppose it's best to wait until the morning ?
I'm not sure how to check the pressure that I increased it to. I know that it went over 1 .0 for sure . I'll see if it comes up on the mode button .0 -

Post #7 info shows that the pressure is displayed when CH & HW are activated but the boiler is not fired up i.e. no demand. The pressure is also indicated in holiday mode when CH & HW are OFF. Both of these displays show Bar at the right hand side of the display screen.
Check the pressure and set it to as near to 1Bar as you can when cold.0 -
It went off again this afternoon . Just repeated the process. The pressure had gone up to 1.6 now 1.3 . Hopefully ok now ?0
