Dumpling so glad your daughter and her friends coats and phones have been found. Some people have strange ideas as to what is funny but no doubt it was kids....adults wouldn't do that (unless they were mentally challenged).
Broadband is sorted. Had a reduction in the bill of £11 a month which brings it down to what it was originally.
Went clothes shopping this afternoon, went and had my feet measured at Clarks. The last time I had my feet measured at Clarks was for my wedding in 1979. I was a size 4 and a half, standard width but over the years I've had to wear size 5s as they were more comfortable. So today I go back to be measured and I'm a size 4 standard width. No wonder I can't walk in my shoes. New shoes bought with a 20% discount. Grump isn't impressed but then, anything other than a pair of stilettos would have got the same response.
This year I have been able to replace the summer clothes in my wardrobe from money given me for Mothers day and my birthday. 5 everyday outfits and 2 pretty summer dresses all bought in the sale.
Grump has finally completed his end of year accounts. His accountant is confident he will get a fair bit back. Back to work for him on Tuesday.
Anyway, less waffling,

Hi again
Just nipping back to report some really good news.
Holly has started on the meds and has had no side effects. They need to increase the dose a little but if she gets no side effects on that dose then she can go home on thursday. I really hope it works out she sounded so upbeat in her messages this evening :j0 -
Happy Birthday judi, hope youve had a good day. xx0
-
Me again, sorry
Nelski thanks for the good news, fingers crossed that Holly can come home on Thursday :T
I don't think I'd like to be a butcher and I'm not a great meat eater either. I think if I was on my own I'd probably be vegetarian :rotfl:.
Dumpling it would have served the " friends" right if you had called the police.
RosyRed there's a leg of lamb in the post
Righty ho best wake up Mr Fix It and send him to bed :rotfl:.
Night night all.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Thanks for starting us off nmlc. I do not own a mobile phone so I work from paper ‘To Do’ lists - there is a certain satisfaction to crossing off tasks done & eventually scrunching up the list & binning it. Mind you there is no rhyme or reason to my list - just add tasks to do as & when I think of them. I just flit about doing tasks as & when the mood takes me :rotfl:
camelot1001enjoy your two weeks of freedom
dumpling, glad Lilly & her friends found their bags etc & in some ways a good job they didn’t go to the police. I don’t think the police are well known for their sense of humourThe idiots/morons (words fail me) who thought it would be ‘funny’ should be put in the stocks
Happy Birthday Judi _party_:bdaycake:_party_ & so happy that you are seeing light at the end of your tunnelyou deserve it
Nelski, my Sketchers are really comfy but found out today that the type I bought absorb water:(
LW, :rotfl: re the Iceland comment because my first thought is always the country :rotfl: probably because my DH took me there as a birthday present a few years ago - beautiful landscapes but never got to see The Northern Lights due to bad weather
Re shrinking feet - unfortunately mine appear to be growingUsed to be size7/7.5 but now size 7.5/8.5
Mind you if they keep growing maybe I will be able to wear my DH’s size 12/13 trainers :rotfl:
Miserable day weather wise but braved the rain - bus to P.O. - parcels to DSis & DH friend. Then off to cs - dropped off wine glasses & various bits & pieces. Found out that the table & chairs that I donated on Monday have already been sold - £75.00 - not bad for 19 year old furniture :rotfl: Plus - and this brought a giant smile to my face, I spotted a Terry Pratchett hardback which I didn’t think my DH owned, asked the price and was given it as a gift
:T. As this was so unexpected, I will redouble my efforts to donate items
Then nipped into MrA to buy a dozen £1 Easter Eggs the ones with chocolate buttons & was sadly disappointednot a single one in the entire shop
so settled for 5 with creme egg inside. No - I am not a glutton  I bought them for my DSis in France - DH & I are going in a couple of weeks to help her pack up for her move back to the U.K.
DH did a Tip trip & then went to MrS with a medium sized shopping list - he managed everything on the list with only about half a dozen extra items :rotfl:
Now for the worrying bit of today - I arrived back at our house in the drizzle to discover the front door wide open & absolutely no sign of the DH  . Went round the house, looked in the garden & even checked to make sure he wasn’t locked in the garage! No sign - so angry phone call made & message left. 5 mins later he walks in the door & gets shouted at! Talk about a senior moment:o Really grateful for the rain & the rather awkward placement of our front door :T as no damage done!
Bit of tidying & now rewatching ‘Going in Style’ - excellent film. Some of my Mojo has returned but not enough as I only have two weeks left to create a space for my DSis’s stuff :rotfl:
Have a good night everyone & hugs for Holly & everyone else who needs or wants one.

Judi I hope that you have had a great birthday, you deserve to be spoiled.
Nelski Thank you for the update on Holly, fingers crossed the treatment continues to go well. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Judi I am very late but Happy Birthday and your post was very inspiring
Very long day, off to bedI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Judi I hope you had a great birthday, you deserve a bit of spoiling honey as you seem to be coping so well with your tribe ,you must have the patience of Job .
Been out and about today so not had a great deal of time to surf.
Nels, great news about Holly, fingers crossed all keeps on going well for her. (Sketchers are my shoes of choice as well, so comfortable).
Just looked on my F/B page and read all the lovely comments folk have written about my eldest DD Shelley, who was made redundant today from her job at the local special-needs school, and I am feeling quite a proud Mum that she is so well thought of.
She has been there for 16 years and reorganisation of the local LEA means that her job has gone. Also my DGS Danny had a piece written about him and his colleagues ads that are running on the New York subways, and he looks so grown up in the spoken interview (proud Granny alert:):))
Going with youngest DD and family to DGD Katie's tomorrow, so lots of new born baby cuddles will be on the menu for baby Erin I think
(DD wants to kidnap her:):)
Dreadfully wet day today and not looking that brilliant for the holiday weekend, hope you all stay warm and dry though.
Have a good weekend chums I will be away for a day or so over the weekend so may not be able to access wi-fi easily so enjoy any chocolate eggs you get
Cheers
