    Morning all

Dry here atm but lots of rain due later on, I will have to get madam up the park for her walk sharpish, yesterday just as we got to the furthest point away from home the heavens opened :o we carried on with out walk anyway and she loved it, there was one other woman and a dog out and she said 'we must be mad' anyway three laps around the park and multiple ball throws and she was ready to come home, being so tiny she was covered in mud and I was soaked down to my undies :rotfl:we got in and I put her straight in the shower and cleaned her off and dried her them jumped straight in myself, once out we had some lunch and then lit the fire and snuggled up to watch a film, a very relaxing afternoon, TA I shall give her an extra hug from you today xx

Onto today I have a wash load on the go and another to go in after, Im trying to get all of ours out of the way before dd and boyf come back from holiday with loads of washing.

Dinner tonight is going to be a use up of all the little bits on the fridge, there are some small chicken pieces so might breadcrumb and fry those, there are some new pots, some salad bits and sundried tomatoes and olives, cheese etc, I think I will just use the lot up, we will need to go shopping tomorrow anyway.

I can phone the surgery this afternoon to get my results my DR is away but the receptionist should be able to tell me if anything is abnormal or not.

Today Im going to dust over the skirting boards in the lounge, I noticed yesterday they were looking a bit grubby.

    Have good days all xx

Grey and cold here today but not raining...yet!
Just back from a site meeting with the local planning committee. Not allowed to speak with them as it may prejudice the decision. Borax! They have already decided to stuff another 18 'affordable' houses on a green field site in a totally inappropriate place. Its the wrong side of a busy road and there are already problems for people trying to cross with pushchairs etc. There is no safe route to school. BUT because its a housing association applying it will be rubber stamped. Also NO Section106 monies to be paid.
In case anyone wonders, I am NOT against 'affordable' housing, but just not there.
    Rant over
Hugs and spoons to those in need

    Morning :hello:
It's a bit damp and dreary here today.
Yesterday I did clean out the baking cupboard and Mr Fix Its medicine one too. I also put a wash on and dried it indoors as it turned very cold last night, so we had the heating on again :(.
This morning we had to send the council an e-mail as they had not collected the recycling box on Tuesday, again. This is the 2nd time they have forgotten the street since Jan 1st, not including the snow weeks. Dad has rung me this morning from Al*is as he has bought 3 legs of lamb and could I put them in my freezer.... well no because I already have a turkey, 3 joints of pork and 2 large chickens, plus my own food . Obviously the lamb is on offer and at least it's not more pork :rotfl:.
On the menu today is a general tidy up, making a spag bol sauce and this afternoon we are going to watch the DGC parade in their Easter bonnets around the village. DGS is not wearing a bonnet because he's in juniors but they are all wearing hats in aid of brain tumour research.
The DGC will come home with us and we will wait for DD and my Dad so we can have tea all together. Spag bol for most of us, DGS and Mr Fix It will have something and chips I expect. There are scones with clotted cream and jam for pudding or ice cream.
Dumpling how awful for the girls.
RedRuby hope you can get your results today.
MrsSD keep posting no matter how late it is.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.
I shall send the Sandman out tonight for those who are not sleeping very well. Sending hugs to anyone who wants or needs one. Sending healing vibes to the the poorly. Take care all.
P.S. The bin man has just arrived to collect the recycling ( better late than never ..... )

    Morning all,

It's my birthday today and I'm 56 years old. Not ashamed to admit my age but I wish I didn't creak so much! Youngest and The Blonde One have given me some money and I am going to celebrate my birthday by having my feet properly measured as im sure my feet are getting smaller.

On this day 5 years ago I sat where I am now and wondered if I'd ever get my family back together. My estrangement with Mom was still going on. I hadn't seen her for 5 years due to a row over how useless I was. Eldest hadn't forgiven me for making him leave home at 18. I should have put up with his drug taking, boozing and coming home to throw up everywhere...well that was never going to happen....warned once, warned twice and out he went....Much the same with Prodigal but he nearly burned the house down whilst high as a kite. His moods scared me and he terrorised Youngest. Nobody was talking to me (or me them) and I was sick of trying. Anyway, I prayed that one day, before I popped off, we would all be reunited. I sat here this morning with cards, videos and messages from my kids and Grandkids with tears in my eyes cause it's all been accomplished. However, I'm not ready to shuffle off yet. There's one relationship I want to put right...at the moment I can't see how but I said the same about my fractured family.

So today is about taking one more step forward and being grateful for what I've accomplished in 56 years.

Onwards and forwards whilst buying shoes I can walk in, rather than what look good,

    Have a great day all.

  • Aw JUDI if anyone deserves a Happy Birthday it's you. You have had more than your share of heartache over the years. I hope you have lots of cakes lined up and have a really lovely day and get thoroughly spoilt. (BTW my feet have shrunk too over the years from a 4 to a 3 and my height has shrunk one and half inches too! I shall be disappearing soon!)

    Judi

Happy Birthday and have a lovely day.

Not sure if youngest is coming to stay over the weekend but have e mailed her to say she is welcome anytime and I will do a proper food shop.

Toying with the idea od going on the bus to Iceland and stocking up a small freezer but will have a cuppa first and see how I feel.

Someone is coming tonight to have a look at the china cabinet and the cross trainer so fingers crossed that they will be out of here.

    Dumpling
That is such a horrible end to a nice evening. I think they should report it as with a police number they might be able to claim on insurance.

    Hugs to all

Wishing Judi a very Happy Birthday,:bdaycake: and I'm glad things have looked up for your family in the past 5 years.Enjoy your day ,you deserve it.x

I popped into town this morning after dropping DGS at nursery school.I wanted to get little eggs for an egg hunt for the children.Apparently they are coming tomorrow but DGD is sleeping here tonight. She was here last night but got upset because she said she misses her Mummy.Unfortunately when Mummy works nights and DGD is at school during the day,the time spent together is cut short, but there isn't anything we can do :(Hopefully now the hols are here it won't be as bad.

I picked up a lovely per una top in the CS,looks hardly worn :) Got a few fresh food bits so I can avoid the shops over the weekend, although I wouldnt have minded one of those legs of lamb Nannywindow.

I have a few jobs to do now, including mending DS jeans so better get a move on.
Lylas had a hug from you TA.I still think of our past dogs often and dread the day when we say goodbye to her, especially as DH says we wont get another.I forsee an argument in the future as I dont agree, though we would have to downsize breeds, certainly couldnt cope with such a large hound again as we get older much as I love em.Snoozer I think at the last weigh in ,L was 66kg :) .I do like cockapoos though ,most dogs really, apart from next doors who has been yapping all the time his owner has been out :(

Enjoy your day, thoughts are with Holly xx

Happy birthday Judi, I wish my feet would shrink!

We had a short walk with the pup because the farmer had ploughed the public footpath and within half a mile I felt as if I had lead boots on. Off now to a nearby field we can let her run around on.
