Afternoon all,
Just had to jump in and send congrats to JackieO on the new addition to the family. Wow what a good weight too,I bet 1st size clothes hardly fit her,or not for long anyway.I'm glad you have had some good news for a change .
We had an unexpected overnight stay by DGS as his baby half brother was unwell and the gp wanted him checked out at A&e.He arrived in his pjs,DS only got 4 pages into a story and he was asleepLuckily little brother is ok. I think DGD is coming for tea as she wants to see her Daddy.
I got DS to drop me at the sm so I could sort Easter treats out for them, and get loo rolls before we had a crisisI picked up a reduced chicken so we'll have that tonight,Ds2 can have his lunch that he forgot this morning.
I'm going to have an hour on my family tree - I had an email from someone on Ancest ry who thought there was a connection but the more I look at it I dont think there is,but he did suggest an amendment which turned out to be right.
Hugs and spoons to those in need xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Congratulations Jackie.
Just back from picking up Ziggypup from DD's, she's ours for the next three weeks which will be great fun! DD seemed in quite good spirits which made me feel happier about her, I just hope the hospital can help her.
Snoozer I meant to say hugs to your dd its a difficult time for her, my dd is living proof that you can still get pregnant while you have poly cystic, it can take a little longer but it does happen xx
Thanks for the advice everyone I have phoned the Dr and explained to him re the 7 day shift and he will do me another sick note which will cover me until ive seen him again and we have the results, which I think is for the best xx0 -
nmlc - thank you for the new thread.
Jackie) - great news about the new addition to the family.
redruby - good that your doctors are signing you off again.
Hugs and spoons to all that need them.
Got to the hospital in good time for the bone scan yesterday, there are umpteen sets of traffic lights on this journey at the moment, pretty much all the lights were on red on the way home, but that didn't matter so much. Didn't go for my little trip out afterwards, was a bit short on spoons, but had a nice lunch at the garden centre and bought some summer bulbs for the garden:D
Saw Osteopath this morning and she straightened me out, have arranged to see her in 2 weeks and 4 weeks and then we go off to Scotland for almost 4 weeks, so hopefully will not fall apart in that time:rotfl: Had well over an hour in the back garden this afternoon, dug out a lot of perennial weeds and raked up dead stuff, had to leave the weeds on the garden, too much wet soil attached to them and there were so many lovely worms in the roots and I didn't want them to go off in the green bin to be incinerated, they can carry on doing good work here. It has gone very chilly and the wind is getting up, but should be able to stay in the warm rest of the day.
Sending good sleep vibes to all that are struggling:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Red ruby, you know it makes sense
Very mixed weather - sun & rain & now the sky is practically black - what a difference a day makes! Yesterday the ‘Mojo’ was with me but today it has got up & leftAll I have done is make toast & cleared a coffee table which has now been ‘pledged’ to death & smells lovely
All my other plans for the day have gone to pot. Oh well, I will not beat myself up about it - I will just be Scarlett ‘After all, tomorrow is another day!’ The DH on the other hand has had a spurt of activity in the garden - pruning, composting & chopping up the wooden banisters/railings from the decking which have been hanging around for at least six years :rotfl: We do like to take our time :rotfl:
So no plans just ‘hopes’ that I can get back on track
Hope everyone enjoys their evenings.
Hugs to Holly & anyone else who needs one.

redruby, thank you - I was beginning to think my posts were invisible! DD is 35 so time isn't on her side but it's good to hear that someone else has had a good outcome.0

Afternoon / Evening all
Jackiemum im so smiley for you today. You will make a fabulous great grandma and she is so lucky to have you in her life :A
RRI think its a good idea to speak to your boss and see if you can get a gentle intro back maybe a couple of days a week maybe. I know what you mean about needing to get back soon anyway so maybe more of a part time return to work could help. I would check with your GP first though they may tell you you are not to go back yet
News from Holly is lots more positive. She has started her new meds and they have started a discharge plan for her which they have said will be 3 weeks She will have a home treatment team come and visit her for 2 weeks after she gets home.Sounds to me like they have a plan at last and seem to be offering some support.
Snoozer thank you so much for your kind offer (and the people offering to help on pm)...its really lovely of you all but Im happy to pay for this its really really not much and as it was my idea to do it there is no way I would ever want anyone to think they had to contribute. Thanks again though:A:A
So it was mum day today and her latest trauma is that her ears are blocked and consequently she is deaf as a post and I mean stone deaf. It made a normally stressful day even more stressful as she also didn't realise how loud her voice was so was shouting the likes of "I need yoghurts" and "don't forget the butter" all over Morrisons  She still wanted to go out for lunch so I resorted to taking a pad and pen in and writing my answers to the usual 3 subjects ...the weather, coronation street (what will happen to Pat is thrilling her) and the traumas of old age. Lets just say I was glad to hit the motorway home. I am a bit annoyed about her doctors though I called to get an appointment and they don't deal with ear problems they gave me a number and the next appointment to see her is May 12th  Please god it sorts itself out before then as as well as been awful for her its awful for anyone within a mile of her
So have a good evening all and take good care of you and yours :A0 -
Snoozer, both my grand daughters have PCOS, the eldest one had been told that the only way she would conceive was with IVF. She managed it naturally, her son was one a couple of weeks ago and is a joy to all of us.
The other grand daughter has more problems, but she is not in a relationship, and is 25 so its not so urgent for her. The medication she has to take has resulted in her putting on a lot of weight and has developed diabetes.0 -
Good news from Holly then.:T Glad they have made progress in planning her discharge.
We had a bit of a surprise in the post today. An increase of our broadband bill of £25%. Apparently when they offer a free upgrade in speed they knock off the loyalty discount.
After getting no joy from the broadband provider Grump has told them to cancel our broadband completely.
He's all for cancelling broadband altogether (or making Youngest pay for it which i dont think is fair) but i'm looking for a compromise which will keep us all happy. Its going to take days for me to take my family photos off google and put them on the network drive.:(This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Evening all,
Lovely spring evening here, we had some rain this morning but it has gone now. I am relieved that weather forecasts for the weekend are for cold and some rain.......no snow.
Ruby, I think that your GP is correct in delaying your return to work until the results of your tests are available......take it easy.
JackieO......congratulations on the arrival of your not so little GGD......a lovely Easter gift for all the family.
I have eventually started the Aran sweater DS3 asked me to knit for him.........56in chest will take a while.
Chicken, mixed veg and mash was dinner tonight, lots of compliments.......that's my cooking for this week, although as we are the only ones not going anywhere for Easter I will probably pick up some extra shifts!
I booked 2 weeks holiday in Sardinia last night, starting June 23rd.,on a flight only basis with a holiday company, its more expensive than when Ryanair flew there directly, but I hate the business of flying to the UK and then on....3 or 4 hours in Stansted, needing something to eat and having to get Sterling to do that....when I read that back it sounds as if I am a cranky old biddy......im not really, I just hate a short journey made long by breaks.
Holly....I am so glad that you seem now to have a proper and positive plan in place.....hurry back.
Hugs to all, take care
