O/S Daily Tuesday 27th March 2018

This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 getting ready to go for a run.

Now getting light, laying water and raining steadily - it's been raining since some time during the night. Pleased I pegged a line of washing out yesterday as there won't be any line drying today.

Dinner last night was smoked sausage and mushroom pasta in creme fraiche sauce with a chicken portion each for the menfolk. Tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.

Yesterday work started quite slowly but then was busy with lots of complicated cases, but we got there in the end. We'll see what today brings. The issue that had cropped up last year apparently caused quite a bit of upset with colleagues and I had thought I may have been a bit hasty with airing my thoughts, but yesterday I heard what had been going on, it clearly was someone being underhand and sneaky and they got caught out. They've made it uncomfortable for themselves as they have to work within the team. It's in hand and being resolved. Full day at work today for me but my early finish.

Keep safe and well x

nmlc x

Just to add congratulations great grandma JackieO - how lovely for you all x

    Good morning everyone.

Today is a complete contrast to yesterday - low white cloud with rain and the tide is out. No spectacular view this morning.

After work yesterday I paid my council tax, wrote a reference for a friend and found my way through a complicated HR website with stupid questions.

My unlemony lemon drizzle cake now has a lemon curd and marscapone filling, now it is better and I am happier about it.

Two hours of teaching this morning and then what happens next depends on the weather.

Just read about JackieO and the new GGD - congratulations to the family.

    Happy Tuesday to all.
  • Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After two days of glorious Springlike weather we are back to the usual dank, dark and mizzly stuff this morning. I had another restless night with the worries of the world crowding in on me and feel like a wet rag this morning.

No fixed plans for today but might get the bus down into town for some Easter cards and gifts for the girls. They get more than enough eggs as it is without me adding to their stash so I usually get them a giftcard to spend on what they want. I also want a big box of choccies for DS and his lady, to share with her children. DD's birthday next week (45 where have the years gone?) so need to get her a card too.

Will have a freezer rummage shortly and christen tea. It might be kievs as they have been languishing in the freezer for long enough!

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for those who need them. Thinking of HOLLY as always and hope the new meds soon begin to help her. JACKIE have you come down to earth yet?! Take care all xx

Hi chums thanks for all your good wishes I am still walking on air as I never thought I would survive this long and to see this very vocal little girl with a strong pair of lungs and mop of dark hair is just wonderful Babies certainly have a way with them and she is going to make her mark I think .Very inquisitive eyes darting all around her.
I wonder how her life will treat her and what it will be like for her when she gets to my age :):):) But what a great boost to our spirits after all the sadness of this year.Nothing like a new born baby to cheer everyone up I have a coffee morning to host this morning and an appointment with the bank this afternoon and pub quiz night tonight, so another busy day ahead ,in between cooing over my DDs photos of the little one :):):)

Have a great day everyone ,even though its raining and not very warm to me the weather doesn't matter this morning :):):)

Congratulations JackieO on the birth of your Great Grand daughter. So pleased for you. :T

    Morning all,

Hoping for a quieter day today. Prodigal came for a bath yesterday..Diva threw up over me just before her Mummy came to collect her. I managed to greet her with a freshly bathed baby but a rather smelly sicked up on Mom. Not only did Diva bring up all of her tea, but thankfully most of the grunge off her chest.

Car is off to the garage today and as Grump will be busy most of the day it will give me chance to get stuck into the housework.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

  • Good morning everyone,

Apologies I've been a bit absent.

My typical morning routine has changed of late, purely down to work being busy very early on, meaning I don't get to come on here.

But here i am. I hope everyone's being doing ok. Not so nice weather today, grey, rainy and cold. Tonight I plan on working a bit late to tie up some loose ends.

    Jackie - Ohhh fantastic! Congratulations!
