Report censorship to MSE Martin

Options
This Forum Board is called "House Buying, Renting, Selling & Prices" so if people want to discuss prices they have just as much right to the board as people who want to discuss Buying, Renting & Selling.

House prices is a huge money saving issue and probably warrants its own sub board rather than just shoving these threads into a sticky.

Where have my posts on house price thread gone?
Corrupted thread ? I don't think so Divadee ... I work in web development/IT .... what has happened is someone has deleted the posts in the house price thread.

The essence of MSE is the freedom of information regarding matters of money ... Does anyone else think this censorship should be reported to MSE Martin?

I would imagine that divadee has already consulted with the mods before deleting the threads in question, and posting the sticky asking for no more threads on this topic.
    Gone ... or have I?

Oh get over it. There are plenty of places to discuss house prices on the web, I'm a member of one & used to be a member of another one, (before they withdrew my posting rights for questioning the party line - now that's censorship).

This is a place for people in need of genuine help. I think it's quite justified for all the HPC threads to be stuck in one place so that people who need help with invasive, thieving landlords can get their questions heard. Or people who need to sell their house, or for those who want to buy a house to ask questions.

Remember the heady days when Lypsey would start a new thread every week or fortnight with House Price Crash Thread N, where N started at 1 & increased. Now there would be no chance for anyone to keep track of N, because people were getting carried away starting a thread when any tiny new bit of news broke on the subject. Yes, that's fine for G/HPC, but this is not the place for that.

Deal with it, get on with your lives, get righteously indignant about something worthwhile, like climate change or the problems in Darfur/Zimbabwe/Burma/other tin-pot dictatorship of your choice or pensions, or dammit even the stupid price of housing, but get over the fact that you & others like you were taking over a forum that covers all aspects of housing.

"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.
  • Just simply because i feel someone has some vetted interests in getting a debate started... Also, may I add that this is not a commercial forum for investors only? if you are not that happy with the way your threads are being treated (deleted by mistake or censroed I don't quite care, personally, there are too many discussions about house prices and they keep on going round and round), then you are welcome to discuss house prices with other like-minded people. There are forums out there for investors and property developpers.

by all means you can report this matter to the abuse team, that would be the poeple concerned not Martin.

It was not for a matter of censorship it was done, but the boards were getting clogged up with numerous posts all on the same subject ie. a housing price crash.

I really cant see the problem of discussing this in one issue in one thread. This works on numerous other subjects on this board and numerous other boards on this forum.

Seperate board would definitely be better.

One for all things renting, another for buying/selling advice, and another for discussion of the market.

We have a seperate Argos board !!!!!!!
  • Divadee, as a benevolent board guide, I do not think you should have to justify yourself.

That is not my decision, you would have to speak to mse andrea for that.

I personally dont think it will be necessary and it could create a precedent and it would get silly like 8 different sub boards for all the different subjects.

It does seem that it is a small militant few that seem to want to clog up this board with HPC threads, that all say the same thing. Why is this such a problem to have them in one place??

If you want to see cencorship go over to HPC forum and suggest the cause of high prices is something other then imigration or the banks and watch what happens... your account gets deleted FROM THE DATABASE. Youcan see this as (I should add I'm a web developer) the account get deleted in a very crude and dirty manner. leaving a lot of database "clutter" around.

Whoever is doing the censoring isn't even a site admin, someones just hacked the backend database.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.
