I have £30 in a purse which I keep for emergencies/ impromptu spending situations - I accrued the money over a few weeks and then keep the purse in my bedside drawer so i am not tempted to used it any other time.

I hate feel constrained so my weekly budget of £150 is my FFF money - Food Fuel and Fun - some weeks I eat beans on toast if I am busy socially and other times I don't!!

You are doing really well and should be proud of the progress you are making.

Thank you for this! My purse has been on my desk for a few days - have not taken it out - I think that is the way forward!

  • I leave my purse home where ever possible and also have deleted the autofill for my card details on my browsers

I love the idea of a FFF fund , I may have to pinch this myself

    Day 3

Spent £1.25 on a drink. Regretted it almost immediately! Need to remember to use a water bottle!!

Going to pay £114 off lowest credit card tonight. Feel tantasingly close to paying these 2 credit cards off. 2 more pay day payments for 1, 3 more pay day payments for the other. Both will be gone by Christmas HOPEFULLY.

  • Day 3 update ... had to go out for milk and bread so decided to exchange dress for pjs for DC. Husband kindly paid the difference. I bought a shower gel for 40p. I normally spend a pound on shower gel but thought a £1 was too extravagant today!
I am really motivated to clear these last 2 debts by Christmas. Going to put every penny towards that goal.
Sorry for super boring update to day 3!

    Day 4
    I bought a present for my DC’s friend’s birthday.
Petrol cost £43 - usually £38 to fill the tank. Must be mindful of how many journeys I make.
I am babysitting this weekend and will earn £60. I count myself extremely lucky to have this.
    Have a lovely (frugal!) weekend!

  • You’re doing so well! Hope you’re feeling positive. Will CC3 be the one you clear first?

CC3 should be gone on 25th November and CC1 by 25th December.

  • This is Day 5 so there are 83 days left until the 2 lowest credit cards are paid off.
    5 down, 83 to go.
    It will fly by!! :-)

  • Day 5 did not go so well in terms of babysitting parent sent me a text message which I found quite hurtful early this morning. Found it rather stressful and it ruined the day, and likely the relationship to be honest. I babysat all day and I am back there tomorrow.

Someone else has messaged me about babysitting so perhaps that might be better.

Anyway, felt rubbish all day and thought I just want to sell everything I own and get rid of my debts and never be in this position again. Looked around at home and there's not really much left to sell!

Still, just 83 days until 2 of the debts are clear. After that I am thinking of paying £100 a month off the big credit card balance and the £227 loan repayment until Summer 2020 and not stressing too much about it.
