I get it now, on the Broadband Unbundled search site it lists a 0808 number for Plusnet which is free but clicking through it gives a 0845 number which is still live (I tried it but didn't listen to the spiel so presume it's chargeable).
Edit: I let one of their admin on the forum site know, they've passed it on.0 -
It appears that some numbers are used for call tracking.
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/
The above URL shows an 0800 number.
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/?WT.mc_id=aff_003dxs&affiliate=uswitch
The above URL with uSwitch appended shows an 0845 number (and without the required call charge information).
Revisit the first URL again and it now shows an 0845 number due to cookies placed by the affiliate reference.
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/
I also 'guessed' a URL for moneysupermarket...
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/?WT.mc_id=aff_003dxs&affiliate=moneysupermarket
The above URL shows an 0845 number (and without the required call charge information), and it's a different 0845 number to the one above.
I then 'guessed' another URL for comparethemarket...
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/?WT.mc_id=aff_003dxs&affiliate=comparethemarket
The above URL shows an 0808 number.
MSE? It's an 0845 number...
https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited-fibre-extra/evening-and-weekend-UK-and-mobile-calls/?WT.mc_id=aff_003dxs&affiliate=moneysavingexpert
The different phone numbers have clearly been programmed into how the site works. It is shocking to see some deals that are supposed to be saving money are accessed via a premium rate number.0 -
Just interested to know if plusnet customers on this forum can get through the 0800 to contact cs. Thanks0
