Is the cashback given off your statement or at the shell station?
Can you decide when the cashback is redemed, or does any credit automatically come off your bill?
Reason I ask I use my cashback card for employers expenses (i.e fuel) - and I want to get the discount, rather than my employer. As long as I can decide when to redeem the cashback, it doesnt matter that the cashback is "in fuel" as when I can just fill up the wifes car and redeem the credit.0 -
Finally got my card toay after four weeks!0

Shell citi card users, dont forget to sign up for the Drivers club loyalty card as well. This gives you 1 point per litre, double points if you buy over 200 litres per month. You can choose airmiles, fuel or other vouchers as rewards. 500 points = £2.50 woucher
I recently received my first voucher for £16.
The only thing to watch is these money off vouchers cannot be used with any other offer, including points collection with the Citicard. You can buy exactly the vouchers worth, put the pump handle back and buy the rest of the tankfull as a separate transaction.

Also not sure if anyone noticed this, but on the Shell card the terms are now as follows:
"Your earned Shell Cash Back on all spend as shown on your statement will only be redeemable against the value of future Shell fuel purchases in GB."
So it's not really cashback but credit towards future purchases with Shell. Not good enough in my view...I'll stick to Egg Money, thanks. Only 1% on everything but at least I can spend it where I want.0 -

If you have to buy fuel to get it why worry about buying fuel to claim it?? I just see it as a fuel discount card
Its only a problem if you suddenly decide to boycott Shell, even then only on the last month.
I do use rather a lot of petrol so I find this quite a good deal, I know the Tesco thing would be worth more but their fuel is dearer around here, and I can never find anything in the deals pages I want one of.
Cheers,
