Any mer's made the switch from O2 or another provider to Sky Mobile
I'm considering recycle SE for Iphone 8
Sky are currently less expensive in monthly repayment costs though 30mthsv24mths term.
Is it worth moving mobile provider to try Sky for a few years.
How has reception been voice and 4G etc.
What I know of features that I'll miss is WiFi calls +Visual voicemail
Though maybe thoughs features will become available,
8-Sky£40*30 mths -approx cost 1200
8-O2-54*24mths--approx cost 1296
I haven;t mentioned handset cost though Sky is winning that with no upfront payment though O2 e-chat csr did mention handset cost could be waivered.
Is Sky worth a switch from being with O2 for a few years.
Thanks in advance mser's

As they run on o2, the reception will be what you experienced on o2...

Thats' what I would have thought though Sky have built their own network they only use O2 radios masts.
Some comments via Sky forums suggest that O2 reception and services are a little better than Sky though it's early days.

I'll be taking my number with me and continue to use O2 for IPad Pro 10.5 contract
O2 has been amazingly stable network provider and their store staff have been excellent when called upon.
Time for a change after a few years.
Think I'll type a comparison after the switch and a few months or year later.
Noticed Sky don't offer recycle only linking to 3rd party sites.
Says a lot for O2 that I've successfully recycled iphone 5,6 IPad Air and possibly SE.

Thanks MSEr' early upgrade time it is!

No, they haven't. Just for a start they would need a network licence to build their own network (which they don't have). They are simply an MVNO on the o2 network, just like any other MVNO, eg. Tesco Mobile.

    From another thread
Sky mobile is not an "MVNO"

"Sky have also built their own network and have full control over all of services.
The only thing Sky rely on O2 for is the radio infrastructure.

Not that I have any mobile network knowledge-only a home user via o2 for past few years.

Thanks all mser's I'm going to purchase iPhone 8 via sky mobile and recycle se via o2.
I''ll probably post initial comparison once delivery s complete.
Just need to time this 'upgrade' as 1st bill via sky is upto 13 days after sim is activated which means early initial payment until I change date to month end.

There are only 4 Mobile Network Operators in the UK, they are EE, Vodafone, Three and o2. There is no scope for additional networks as those are the only operators with network licences from OFCOM.

Any other provider is an MVNO of one of the MNO's...
There are actually only four UK mobile networks – EE*, Three, O2* and Vodafone* (check signal using Ofcom's Mobile Coverage Checker).

All the other providers 'piggyback' – ie, buy space from – one of these four networks. For example, Tesco and Giffgaff are on O2, Asda is on EE and TalkMobile is on Vodafone.

    Thanks mser's for all reply's

I've secured a price match iPhone 8 offer via o2 chat this aftermoon.
A very small saving and I'll start a new 24mth contract.
I'lll continue with o2 for mobile +iPad Pro
    And Sky for Q/fibre +Line
Certainly interesting how competitors are interested in incentives to keep customers.
1st time I'm not using o2 re cycle which was excellent for iphone 5+6+Air
SE goes to the often advertised musicmagpie with a nice 130.00 payment v o2 73.00 offer.
