The STAFF may be asking for a discriminatory reason, but the manager is not. he is asking because it is annoying his staff.
really they need to block her though.
The employer has a duty to protect an employee from discrimination. In this case they have actively supported the workers that are discriminating against the female worker. They are vicariously liable.0 -
Are you now going to take proper legal advice OP?0

I have already put it in writing to her over email. I!!!8217;m going to have to speak to her about now and follow up I think, I can!!!8217;t let this fester over the weekend.
Her and one of the guys were getting on a bit too well for a while if you know what I mean? My best guess is that his wife has put her foot down and that is why he has brought it to me. Maybe he doesn!!!8217;t want to say that that!!!8217;s what happened.0 -
Just emailed the HR company now that put our policies together.0

Holy crap. So her male colleagues accepted her as a contact/friend whatever on social media, sent a few friendly messages, until one of her male co-workers wives got funny about it. And now she's been accused of inappropriate contact and a blanket ban on her communicating with her colleagues has been put in place? Sounds like a bit of a witch hunt.undercoverirish wrote: »Her and one of the guys were getting on a bit too well for a while if you know what I mean? In what was the man sanctioned for his part in this? You've taken punitive action against the woman because of a mutual relationship.
Please don't say anything more to any employee until you have advice. If that means leaving it until Monday, then so be it. Don't make it any worse.0 -
Surely this should never have become a management issue unless it was using works systems
Surely the person at fault here is the male colleague who shared his private social media address with her0 -
They!!!8217;re a great bunch of lads. Apparently the his wife does think there!!!8217;s something going on with the girl at work. I have walked into a domestic0

Messaging other women in a way that makes their wives uncomfortable and then blaming the woman? Yeah, great bunch of lads.undercoverirish wrote: »They're a great bunch of lads.0 -
They have work mobile phones but they!!!8217;re allowed to use them for personal use, it!!!8217;s an unlimited contract so we just cover the bill every month for each of them.0
