There’s a lot there to read so if a situation come up I guess I thought I would read up on what I needed to know. And I clearly haven’t done it when I should have.
I am trying to sort this and feel I’m getting a bit of a rough ride of some of you. I know I’ve messed up but I am trying to put the wheels in motion to put it right!! I don’t know what else I can do0 -
Here is what you can do
1) get your brother, who has not been involved, to hear the grievance
2) get your brother to not make a decision, but just listen lots, and take notes, and then say he needs some reflection time
3) get your brother to ask the woman what she thinks a decent outcome would be i.e. what she wants
4) everyone shuts up then until you've asked for further HR guidance; no decisions get made at all.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -

Wait till you're in the witness box and a barrister starts on you!
If you cannot see that YOU are the problem and are making things worse with every step you take then feel free to ignore all the positive advice you've received.

The hr company have said to speak to them before we action anything following the grievance meeting. They said it’s fien for me to do the meeting so long as anyone else does the investigation. I’ll be revoking the existing warning and if it needs investigation then my bro will do it.
As I say, I want her to stay on the team and I want her to be happy. I’ve realised I should have dealt with t better and I will!0 -

Hold on. You appeaar to be asking for advice, but ignoring every single bit of it.
You are going to revoke the warning before you have spoken to HR? So you have again pre-determined the outcome of a meeting before it has been held. And you have no idea if this is the outcome she wants.
And you don't see any conflict of interest at all in you hearing a greivance which is at least in part directly against you?
I am sorry. I no longer believe this is a real problem. No one can be this blind. Had me going though, fair play to you.
If it is true, I know some no win no fee solcitors who will be rubbing their hands in glee.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
No no, I spoke to hr this morning! She!!!8217;s advised me what to do regarding the grievance so the meeting with the woman is tomorrow at 2pm. After that, I have to speak to the hr company and the intention is that we!!!8217;ll be withdrawing the warning and deciding if there is something that needs investigation and the process will be started from the beginning0

and what does the written grievance say it is about?
ETA: and has the greivance been presented per the requirements of your greivance policy?
And is that policy available to employees anywhere?2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Why would I waste my time coming in here to just pull your leg.
The hr company have asked us to come back to them tomorrow after the meeting. They have helped me understand what I need to find out from the meeting with her and how I need to be impartial and listen and not pass judgment or justify anything there and then. Listen and take notes, that I can do.
The policies are on the network so yea everyone has access to them. The grievance she sent was in an email stating that the process taken was unfair and that she feels she’s being discriminated against because he hasn’t had a fair hearing.0 -
The grievance was sent to me as that’s who it says to send it to on her contract or terms and conditions, as I’m her line manager0

Except SHE hasn't had any hearing let alone a fair/unfair one.
Please be consistent with your fantasy if you want people to play alongOriginally Posted by shortcrust
