Am liking all the planning, especially the meal planning :D Mongolian beef sounds good..d you have a recipe? Have lots of beef left in my freezer from an organic meat box.

    Have a great weekend x
  • Hi Brizzle.

First time I have made Mongolian beef, dead easy and all bunged in the slow cooker on low for the day.

Only thing I did different was add some chilli to give it a bit of a kick.

    xx
  • Evening,

Friday again already, hopefully we are in for another nice weekend.

Went grocery shopping this morning as I had a £12 off voucher to use in Sainsburys, shopping came in at £71 after voucher and I have another £7.50 to come from sh0pmium/check0utsmart. So £63.50 for weekely shop isn't to bad, will need some more milk later in the week.

Made veg lasagne from courgettes, mushrooms and peppers that were past it, in the oven now for tea with crusty bread, meatballs and spaghetti can keep for another week.

Received some Pantene foam conditioner this morning, looks like a nice little freebie, have put it in the holiday toiletry box, speaking of holidays I have been looking for a holiday for myself and DD next year after she has finished her exams. Ds will be away in Africa and DH is always flat out at work at the beginning of the summer, so thought we might have a girly holiday. Italy and Greece are high on the list, we want culture and sights to see but beach or pool as well, I'm edging closer to Italy. I'm thinking Naples/Sorrento maybe.

    Weekend To do -

    Make banana muffins.
    Pack ebay item
Pay for DS Geography trip (£12)
    Order DD Text books (£20)
    Clean bathroom.
    Sweep/mop through downstairs.
    Tidy bedroom.

    Outgoings June -

    DD tutor - £156.
    School lunches DS - £50/£15
    Groceries - £300/£158.50
    Petrol - £100
    Bills - £45/£4
    Misc & entertainment £100/£18

    June Goals-

    Make £350/£50.
    Stick to grocery budget.
    surveys/ebay.
    Meal plan.

    Yoga
    Try and read 2 books.
    10/2 NSD.

Thanks for posting that recipe. Looks great.

Girlie holiday gets my vote. Great idea. Greece is nice and probably cheaper to stay and eat in than Italy. Me and a friend are doing a 5 day holiday there with our girls this summer...similar sort of thing. Need to celebrate the hard work these kids are putting in

Thanks Brizzle, it's something for us to look forward to and DD will have finished her exams, so some nice down time after all the stress.
  • Morning,

Yesterday didn't quite go to plan as we were supposed to go to the cinema last night and watch Jurassic world, but DS had had a cricket watch in the afternoon and was tired and headachy so we decided not to go and will save it for next weekend.
Cricket was great and they won, took a picnic and had a lovely chilled out afternoon.

Did spend £6 on a bag of compost and planted out some veg, that should be it now for this year as i'm running out of space.
    £30 fuel put in car.

Today is a quiet day at home DH and DD are both working and DS is still in bed, I have cleaned the kitchen, listed 6 items on ebay and still have more to list,I have 1 item finishing today and they I will have a look at how much I've made this week, think it will be around £60.
washer is on for 2nd time and 1st lot has been pegged out. Planning on doing some baking shortly and have a pile of ironing to wade through.

DD mentioned an end of year school trip yesterday, so another £15 to find:mad:, always something.

Hope ds feels better today, it's odd we're currently in the process of moving our club to share facilities with the cricket club - I'm hoping ds takes an interest as both his Dad and Grandad are both good cricketers.

I echo going for the girly holiday something lovely to look forward to.

I would say have a nice quiet day but you sound really busy already!
