Glad you are having a good week off. Hope the car bill wasn't too bad!
Thankyou, hope your managing to enjoy the sunshine with your little ones.x
  • Morning.

So car just needed a couple of windscreen wipers, so total cost was £89:D, so that's done for another year.
Invoice for work done is in £255, which I have paid. So that's everything up to date for this month and it is payday tomorrow :D.

Decided I will give farmf00ds a whirl, not somewhere I normally shop but a flyer came through the door yesterday and had lots of branded bits on offer such as ice cream, crisps, fish fingers, frozen fruit/veg etc which seemed cheaper than what we usually pay, so going to have a trip over there this afternoon, only problem is it's not in a part of town that I like (very rundown , lots of kids hanging round street corners) i'm just being a wuss i'm sure it will be fine at 3 in the afternoon. So will fill the freezer and hopefully will reduce grocery bill for next month.
Also need to nip to home bargains as we seem to have run out of things like batteries, envelopes, printer paper.
I also have some vouchers for grocery shopping to use £10 off £60 spend with 0cado + free delivery. 2 x £12 0ff £60 spend with sainsburys to use instore, need to make the most of these and stock up on offers and basics.

    So plans for today are
    visit dog kennels,
    stocking up shop
    post ebay parcels,
take kids to ice cream parlour as promised.
List a few bits on ebay.
Washing pegged out whilst weather is good.

    Have a great day xx

  • Morning all, 1st of June not sure where this year is going!

Trip to farmf00ds went well and both freezers are now bulging with ice cream, lots of fish, veggies, fruit etc, spent £91 and used a £10 off £100 spend, now to sort a meal plan out and decide what to buy to make the most of the vouchers we have for ocado and sainsburys.

Had a lovely day at beamish yesterday, although it was incredible busy, took us 1 hr to get in and line was trailing towards the top of the car park, guy on desk was very flustered and said he had never seen it so busy, but it did seem they were very understaffed, not all the tills were open, they are holding a special Georgian fair and it seemed as though they hadn't prepared for the extra people that this had attracted, we went to the tea room at 1.30 as we thought we would have tea, sandwiches and cake and they had sadly ran out of sandwiches and the wait for the line for the fish and chips was 2hrs so we gave up and had some gingerbread for lunch from the bakery as they had run out of pies.
The exhibits were fantastic and I loved the old sweetie shop and the 1940s farm, will go again but will take a picnic.

Plans for today are to do a todo list for the weekend. meal plan and grocery shop to be delivered Monday, check finances, gardening. Need to do a post office runand a million other things.
Also need to decide on my June goals which a large part will be not spending money as May was horrendously expensive.

    Have a great day.xx

Sounds like a lovely morning penny, glad car wasn't too expensive the other day - I still haven't got a new battery for mine - bad huggle!

Is it just me or are school trips getting more expensive, my ds is going to France/Belgium next year and it's costing £350! At least we've got plenty of time to pay it.

Your meal plan sounds lovely, I have actually done mine now - yipee!

Just catching up with you Penny. Beamish sound very disorganised - it's not as if they didn't know it was half term and they'd be busy! At least you'll be prepared next time you go.

All sounding very organised for June - I need to get my act together. Like you I had a very expensive May but June should be better.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Sorry to hear about Beamish :(. Perhaps an email to the management might spark some extra staff being employed?

Have to say the only time I’ve ever experienced it like that is the fish and chips in the height of summer. They really are awesome though.

Did you see sweets being made in the back of the sweet shop? So clever Xx

Hi Huggle, yes school trips are a huge expense, DS is going to Africa for 3 weeks and is costing £2500, a massive amount of money we could never of afforded if we hadn't become debt free.
