Windscreen PCN on a lease car in Scotland
Comments
-
They didn't pay yet, as per agreement they are supposed to contact us first (but they won't do it again apparently). We'll call Jaguar tomorrow to make sure they don't pay.
I just don't know how to react to that "THE TIME TO APPEAL HAS NOW PASSED".
I will read again the FAQ, maybe I'm not remembering the recommended procedure.
Thanks0 -
I don't suggest you phone anyone.
I can see they haven't paid yet, but I warned you in March the dangerous game you were playing, not to have appealed the windscreen PCN (Jaguar would never have got any letters).
You have a letter from Jaguar authorising you to deal with it, so deal with it and attach a photocopy of Jaguar's letter to an appeal to the PPC, saying you are the lessee/hirer and this is the first you've heard of the matter, and see attached letter showing that Jaguar have authorised you to appeal it. Say that you are the lessee of this vehicle and you do not believe there was any contravention and you require all photographs of the event.
Re this from your first post:
...now do you understand why you should have hooked it away from the lease firm, right from the start?
Now I don't understand why I should do that?! What am I missing? In the case of a company car or hire car, if you get a windscreen ticket you MUST appeal before day 28 (well before day 21 when it's an IPC firm which only 'offers' 21 days to appeal - check the PCN). This is in order to hook the PPC in your direction, before they get a chance to get the keeper's details from the DVLA.
If the leasing company gives them my address, they will send me the NTK, which is exactly what my direct appeal was supposed to be for, so what's the difference?
Why haven't Jaguar replied to the PPC giving your name and address?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I understand Coupon-Mad, you are right, but at that time I could not understand where the idea for an appeal would come from without having any NTK, also I had had another episode with a private parking ticket at an hotel space, and that was dealt promptly with Jaguar forwarding straightaway our details and us calling the hotel and solving the matter very easily. I can just use past experience as data.
So now my understanding is I should appeal to the Parking Company to tell them to deal with us.
About Jaguar, I mentioned calling them to ask why they haven't sent us the first notice and why they haven't just given our details. I just don't know what is going to be this call for effectively? What can we get from them at this point?
Sorry again, I freak out very easily with these sort of matter, I find very complicated moving through appeals and this sort of stuff and I'm definitely one of those easy targets to be convinced to pay. I know you guys advise not to, that's why I'm giving you so much details and ask help, I'm totally out of my comfort zone.

Reading the letter better, it also looks like it's not directly from P4Parking, but from TNC Parking Services, and it says:
"Failure to ACT TODAY by contacting TNC to make payment will result in TNC seeking approval from our client - P4 Parking Ltd.- for passing your account toa Doorstep Collection Agent"
Considered this letter was sent to Jaguar in the 2nd of June and it's forwarded to me only now, I think I may be already at debt collectors stage, is that true?0 -
Sory again for yet more additions. I've read all the info in the Newbie post to avoid repetitions.
I guess the only peculiarity of my case is that I'm approaching this debt collector phase while they still have Jaguar address. In order to correct that - as @CouponMad suggested - I wanted to use the P4 appeal service online, which now does no longer accept the details of my ticket becasue the time of appeal is passed. Should I write a letter/standard email then? And should that be just to the PPC an not the TNC Services?
If you could just answer those questions, I think I will be ok for now.
Thank you very much0 -
a search on google or this forum would have told you who TNC where
to make things simple , read this https://padi.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203667411-TNC-Management-Ltd-t-a-TNC-Collections0 -

"Doorstep Collection Agent" ... did they really say that ???
For P4's sake that would get them a whooping in court for
employing such tactics
TNC are just junk and they cannot do that unless directed
by a High Court and it's not even been to a county court
That's a letter for Trading Standards to investigate
It is sad to see that the BPA let these cowboys operate
under their banner ....... that's the BPA for you0 -
drove passed TNCs building a few weeks back , the whole back yard was stacked with doorsteps ,
sigh , be carefull tho they did one claim in there own name , a default one , not sure the outcome
TNC (owned by people born in 1934???) advertise "no win no fee" and will try anything0 -
Send what I suggested to BOTH, with a copy of Jaguar's letter which confirms that you are 'authorised' to deal with it and that you are the keeper/lessee. DO NOT write extra words that might imply who parked...and DO make sure you include your postal address even if emailing.Should I write a letter/standard email then? And should that be just to the PPC an not the TNC Services?
Either by email or by ordinary post - but in person at the PO Counter so you can ask for a FREE ''certificate of posting'' (NOT recorded delivery/''SIGNED FOR'' - think about it...what does signed-for require? ... never expect that of a scammer!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm about to send this email to both of them with both authorisatios and Notice attached. I hope P4 won't ignore it as they say they don't accept appeal messages in their standard email contact (but their appeal form doesn't allow me to write, as it doesn't accept the reference number and registration):
In relation to the TNC Ref:xxxxxxxx applied to the Vehicle Registration: xxxxxxxx,
I would like to provide my most updated contact details as Lessee/Hirer of the car in question to dispute the charge.
Full Name: XXXX XXX
Address:
XXXX
XXXXXXX
XXXXXXX
I've got informed of a Notice sent to the Company Hire - Jaguar - and I'm requesting from now on that any further correspondence is sent only to the above-stated address, as I've been given full authorization to deal with this matter by Jaguar. You will find the authorization document in attachment together with the Notice that was for the first time forwarded to me.
Regards,
Do I have your thumbs up?0
