It can help get spam deleted: if numerous people hit the button it will go automatically. I don't visit many boards but I do see if there's any spam to zap each day ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

The spam button needs hitting so many times before it actually gets deleted so people highlight it here so others can see it and hit the button to help get it removed quicker.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. But the spam is obvious. Just look at new posts. Go into a spam posting. Find all the posts by that poster. Mark each one as spam. Job done.
The spam reports are just more spam as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe there should be a spam counter against each user to show how many times they have reported spam. Might give more people an incentive to join in.0 -

There is still a spam button on the old style green forum. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Not just you - my spam button disappeared at about the time we had to change our passwords several times - since then I have only been able to use the report button for this purpose which is not always ideal as it relies on someone at MSE actually reading the report before taking any required action.
This is a screenshot showing what I see:0 -

I have my spam button. I've been a good citizen and used it many, many times in the past. Not now though - you get to a point where the site needs to fix the issue.
No point sticking your finger in the dike when there is water lapping over the top.0
