I have just had my Vaillant serviced. It is still in good working order after 15 years. The firm which services for me recommends either Vaillant or Worcester.0

They all do, miss a service and no warranty. This isn't a secret, if you want to keep a warranty they it needs an annual service for the term of that warranty.
This is a worry to me, as I have a Baxi with the 10 years warranty, fitted 3 years ago, but whenever I get the card posted to me saying the service is due, it takes me about 2-3 month to actually get the engineer out to service it as he cant fit me in sooner (the joys of getting it done in the winter). So with me being late every year (but still having the service done every year, have I cocked up my warranty? I might as well stop getting it serviced by him if that is the case.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

No, you should be ok, as long as the engineer sees the service record at the back of the book with all the services filled in they wont look to hard at the dates.
It's the ones with the missing services that need to worry.0 -

Yes I don't understand why Worcester Bosch do so well. I had one of their boilers and it was noisy and kept breaking down.
Ideal are quite good and I believe you can get a seven year warranty.
Valiant are expensive, particularly for parts.
I have an intergas hre combi boiler. It works differently to the other boilers in that, if the pump breaks down you lose the heating but not the hot water (so you can still have a bath and wash the dishes). It has a 12 year guarantee and it is exceptionally quiet.
However it really is a confusing exercise. I changed mine last year. I bought mine because it worked differently to the rest.0 -

I have yet to work out how to harness the unbearable heat that pours through my conservatory in the summer. It feels like such a waste not to be able to distribute the energy elsewhere.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

And get it serviced by another equally suitably qualified engineer hopefully?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
