    Morning everyone,

It’s very cold here again but with blue skies and sunshine so not so bad.
We are popping into BuryStEd this morning to pick up the few bits we didn’t get last week, unlike Cambridge the shopping area isn’t covered so will be sure to wear a hat as it’s freezing.
Other than that not a lot planned, feel a bit flat today, it’s the time of year I guess.

Have a great day folks x

    Morning all

We had snow for most of yesterday evening and its just started again now, the roads are clear though so ok. DD is just off to work and I have told her to take it slowly. For the first time ever OH has been told to stay off because its too cold for them onsite so we are both off :j.

I had the most lovely time in London with dd, we stayed overnight at the Waldorf which was just lovely and everything was exquisite quality we went out for afternoon tea with cocktails and got a bit tipsy and walked back to the hotel with the snow falling around us, we then had a rest for an hour or so and then got ready and went down to the bar for a cocktail before going out for dinner for Cicchetti (small savoury snacks ) and wine
 On the Sunday we had a huge breakfast which we made the most of:D and a walk around Covent garden before getting the train back, it was a lovely luxurious weekend and I feel very much more relaxed, im still very tired but I suppose I will be for a while. My dd spoilt me very much bless her x And Nels yes I did nick the toiletries just because I could !!

Going to take it easy for today will walk little madam up to the park as she loves the snow so much and runs around trying to catch all the flakes :rotfl:

Hugs to all my friends on here, and special ones for Holly xx

Take care in this weather xx
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. extra hug for Holly, I really hope she gets out soon. Even the nurses seem to agree that she should not be in there.

Its Brrrrrrrr again this morning, we still have lying snow, although it is forecast to ease this morning. I did remember last night to fill the coal bucket and bring in a shovel of small coal to start off the fire. As the temperature rises we will just have the heating on in the sitting room, its only whilst its been so cold we have turned the sitting room rad off and lit the fire during the day. I do love to see a fire. Oh how I wish we had a wood burner, but I am not having one put in for someone else to benefit from it, so fires it will have to be.

Our across the road neighbour came round with his snow shovel and cleared the pavements in front of our bungalows, he also came round and cleared the path to the dustbins from the front door. It was very kind of him OH went out and had a word with him

Doubt we will get the fencing sorted until later this week, the ground will be too hard to dig out for fence posts.

Bed stripped, sheets etc in the washer, they will have to go in the dryer, I will clean the bedroom once I have remade the bed.

Wet room will get steamed tomorrow morning. I did manage to wash the kitchen floor on Saturday.

Chicken and bacon pie with mash and veggies tonight. The crumble yesterday was lovely, used an ounce of semolina in it, yum yum. There is enough for another couple of nights dessert. We finished the ice cream last night so tonight will be custard.
  • Morning all,

    A quick one from me.

A quiet weekend which included working most of Saturday. I made clotted cream fudge on Sunday which went down a treat at Sunday dinner with the family.

Went to the gym this morning and i've football tonight too. Omelette for dinner.

Camelot- A belated happy birthday! Glad you had a great day!

    Morning all.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what a pro king is? I'll have to Google it.

Weather bright and sunny. Won't take long to thaw the snow and ice I shouldn't think.

Youngest has requested lasagne for tea. That will please Grump no end cause he only likes mash and we've been living on it since he came home.

The usual snapping and snarling at each other has started. We are both used to living separately, it's hard getting used to living together again. All I'm hearing is snow tyres and people who don't know how to drive in the snow and all he's hearing is will you please go and have a shower...

    Thinking of Holly and Dumpling.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

I had no idea either Judi, Googled it and it does look good.

Up early with a nasty job on mind ....yesterday we had a dreaded buzzard attack leaving a pigeon victim in my front lawn :( Went to bed hoping that some hungry animals might find a feast but no they had clearly had a large sunday lunch so left it. Anyway said pigeon RIP is in the black bin in the sky now....all flowers gratefully accepted :D

Menu is coated chicken, salad, fries and sweet potato fries, mini sweetcorns, bbq beans, coleslaw and some sweet potato and black bean burger for veg and gluten free [STRIKE]PITA[/STRIKE]guest in a GF bun. Friend is bringing some cup cakes for pud so just needed to provide some GF cheesecake from marks at a hefty 3.00 for one  Also had a real rant at the price of oats for the burger...25p for my value oats....2.99 for GF:mad: Anyway should be fun and prosecco filled :) (oh and at some point we will discuss the book :rotfl:)

    Morning all.
My there's a bitterly cold wind again !!! The snow stopped yesterday but everything is now iced up. The schools are closed because of the icy conditions so DD and family are off again. At least with them both being teachers the DGC won't have far to go for home schooling, much to their dismay :rotfl:.
The main roads are clear unlike our road which is one lane only again, but there are a few passing places because some people have gone to work by car this morning. Hopefully the sun will melt some of the ice/snow before we have to go out this afternoon to get the tow bar fitted. We will not be far from a shopping centre with plenty of places for food and coffee, so we've decided to have a late lunch out too. (4hrs will be a long time to waste :(. )
Hope everyone stays safe and warm today. Hugs to all, with extras to Holly.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Sorry I have been a bit quiet (hooray I hear you say), I've been stressing out again and didn't want to bring it on here. Anyway, things are still very difficult but I feel stronger today so here I am :D.

We have snow, lots of it so the schools are closed. Becky was supposed to see her orthodontist this morning but they rang me to say the surgery was closed. The grandchildren will hopefully be over in a little while as well. Our hairdresser is supposed to be coming here this afternoon but she lives right out in the sticks so it is doubtful she will make it. I haven't heard from her yet though.

Steve had booked today off work last week so I am beginning to think he is either a lucky charm or an evil goblin as we had loads of snow the last day he booked off too :rotfl:. We hardly ever get any of the white stuff as we usually have a very mild climate and live fairly near to the coast. The kids are delighted though of course.

I think Dumpling has one too, she might give more insight than me as I am a poor cook , I like watching cookery shows but thats as much as I do.

I have an instant pot which is very similar to the Pro King I believe. I do love mine as I can make stews and cook joints of meat so quickly and the meat is beautifully tender. I am using mine later to make a gammon and root vegetable broth. I have also made cheesecakes in mine which have been sooo good but sooo bad for the waistline. I wouldn't be without it now.

Well Becky has just left for Tesco to get ingredients to do some baking. Hope she doesn't slip over on the way home with a tray of eggs in her bag :eek:I had better hurry up and prep the veg before she takes over the kitchen.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Hello, I am late! It is my day off so I've been doing some paperwork, laptops really are a curse as well as a blessing.

The snow, which was deep is now melting in some very bright sun. OH went out this morning and said that the roads were like glass, I've just been put for a look and lo! Melty. I'm sitting at my desk and a big lumpy patch of snow has just fallen off the kitchen roof with a crunch. Unfortunately I've also just seen a snowflake, am hoping it is just lost and not about to bring all its friends and rellies with it.

I don't know what this pro pressure thing is either and I'm not going to look it up, I have enough stuff. I was scared of my old pressure cooker, no idea what happened to it, it might have gone awol. I had a slow cooker and didn't like it at all so that went to the charry shop.

I've finished my work and also have submitted an application for some part time sessional stuff for after my liberation.

I'm going to make either meatballs or meatloaf later and we'll have latkes and salad with whatever it ends up being. I add leftover veg to latkes, they aren't proper that way but they are good, like bubble and squeak but nicer
I might go and dust now.
Hope everyone is having a good day, RR that weekend does sound lovely.

Holly, I'm sending love plus a bit of this sunshine xx
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
