Hey Evab,
Just wondering how things are going now your back at work and your goals for 2009?

Hi WL and everyone else,
I haven't had much time to post but also not much to write really until now.
Work is very busy, I'm going to be teaching 3 afternoons a week, plus have NVQ candidates, plus my extra teaching hours so not time so stop on here! I'm just looking at getting some candidates to do their NVQ online so it will cut down my travelling time and petrol costs.
In terms of finances, they've taken a bit of a battering due to the extra childcare costs while we wait for the vouchers to kick in. So my annual rise back pay that will be paid in my wages tomorrow will have to clear some of the overdraft. I won't start getting the extra payments for teaching until next months pay packet.
I have been doing a few mystery shops and have 5 more to do so far, these are now being paid into a seperate account so I can just send a cheque from that bank.
A very kind fellow MSEer did a spreadsheet for me so I can track my overpayments, which I think will give me more determination to bring down the balance.
So current situation on a few things:
* Not going to save any more for mortgage change as with current interest rates I think we'll have a substantial reduction.
* Focus is now on clearing as much of the secured loan as possible by next April.
* Windows for the 3 rooms have been ordered and work should be carried out in the next few weeks. We found out that hubbie works with the blokes cousin so he is giving us a discount on the work, plus he said that the remaining windows and doors would cost in the region of £3100 and that even if we did a couple of windows at a time he would keep it in that price!!!:T
* Continuing with teaching, mystery shops, surveys etc. This will all go towards the over payments.
* Loan finishes in April so this money will be put into savings.
I think that's it!
This month is very short in over payment but I should start getting my extra earnings next month, will send a cheque for £40.69 tomorrow.
Hope everyone OK, off to catch up a bit before I sort out my teaching plans for this afternoon.

That is excellent news, I really recommend progressing on this asap as you'll benefit immediately. Perhaps consider this as a priority for funding so you can then give him an idea of timetable you are likely to be aiming for; helps him and allows you to gauge how long he'll keep the offer in place.
Don't forget that if you are paying VAT on this (;)) you want to get things in place whilst it is still 15% and not the potentially 19% or so it may rise to later?
Best wishes with the balance of children and working, hoping their health remains good for an extended period so you can get a "routine" established with them and hence some degree of "efficiency" in getting them out in the morning!0 -
hi ev....sounds like you have been extremely busy....congrats on the windows.:j .that is really good news!!!0

Hi all,
I been reading all your posts regularly as an inspiration to keep going with mine.
Slight alteration AGAIN to plans, my back froze again last friday and I had to have an emergency appt with the GP. He recommended that I go to a Chiropractor to find out what has been causing the problems and try to fix, retrain and strengthen my spine. So I have been twice this week and so far it's been fantastic, I have a twisted lower part of spine and some in my neck he's done a few things so far including cracking my neck yesterday which was ! But so far so good, no pain just achey at the mo. Obviously this is going to cost me quite a bit of money as need intensive treatment for a few weeks so over payments won't be quite as healthy as planned but hey my health comes first. Bad back = No work.
I've been very busy with teaching and loads of mystery shops so hopefully I'll still be able to make a little payment.
In other news:
windows are being fitted next Friday
all else is good!
