they want to send it back for repair takes a month. and no they wont give you a phone to use as a temp phone . B. A. S. T. A. R. D. S:mad:
all this took place in Carlisle were very hard folk up here.:rotfl:
I recently returned a faulty mobile phone handset to the Carphone Warehouse in its manufacturer warranty, they warned me it could take up to 3 weeks to be returned but I was offered a loan handset for a £50 deposit. The handset was back in store within a week, however there was some physical damage which had happened whilst with them, so they arranged for a new handset to be couriered to my home address the following day. And of course the £50 was refunded in full. I was pleased with their service.0 -
The Vestery have the worst returns poilcy i have ever come across.
No refund or credit note whatsoever. Exchange only.
Exchange within 10 days. So you have 10 days to try and find something else you like. If you don't like anything at that time, tough, you're stuck with the item.
I'm stuck with a £25.00 dress, complete with tags, that I don't like (it was a present).0 -
If you buy something from JD Sports (part of the John David Group), perhaps as a Christmas gift, and then want to return it, they will take it back, but could give you less than you paid for it! Last December I almost bought a Xmas pressie in JD Sports. Not sure if it would fit, I asked if I could return it, unworn, with the receipt for a refund. I was told that would not be a problem, BUT, if the item I bought was subsequently reduced in their end of season sale, I would only be refunded the sale price, even if it was returned with the original receipt.0

Store/Chain Name: Debenhams
Can you return goods without a problem? Yes. If you do this within 28 days. If you dont have a reciept it is different. If you take the tags off of clothes (especially underwear) and the care labels we will often refuse to give the refund because its our little amount of proff the items havent been worn. If its faulty its a straight refund.
Does it offer a full refund or credit note? Yes. You can have a gift card if you have the reciept. If you dont have proof of purchase they only offer an exchange for the current selling price, regardless of how much you paid for it in the first place.
Did you need to have your receipt/a copy of the credit-card statement? You will do yes. Obviously if its faulty its a different matter.
Is there any time limit? Is it seasonal? 28 days. For christmas we offer gift reciepts from the middle of november, the first day of mega day is when you can buy a christmas present, get a gift reciept and then the price you payed will be guarenteed untill sometime in january, perhaps even longer. You cant get a refund with a gift reciept. You would need the master copy and the correct method of payment.
Are you a customer or employee/former employee? Im an employee
Anything else people should know... Leaves tags on! And then if all else fails get the manager because 9.9 times out of 10 they will probably waiver it and let you have the refund. Bare in mind that the sales people are doing their job and dont bring stuff back on boxing day because thats just screwy for the poor people who want to kick up a fuss about a pair of knickers they want to return when i would rather be at home with the family.
Actually, that changed recently, you now can't have a gift card. It's a refund to the payment method with receipt within 28days if it was full price.
If it was 50% off or more and you return it, then it's exchange only unless you have a Debenhams cardNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

All tags must be on the items of clothing when been exchanged, otherwise you will be refused.
If you cannot find your proof of purchase but know the exact date and card you used, you can ask for them to search for the transaction on their system. If it's busy it may take a few days for them to get round to doing it as only certain people have access to this.
I have done this with several customers who seem genuine and have been polite and courteous when trying top resolve the issue.
*Nectar cards cannot be traced with this neither can cash transactions.

Sorry slightly OT, but...Consoles (360, PSP, DS lite, PS2/3) only have the first 28 days of the warranty with us, after that you have to go through the manufacturer.Sat-navs and digital camera's are not covered with our normal electrical policy, from memory they have to go though the manufacturerDyson's warranty is with Dyson the second you buy it, exchanges or refunds have to be done through Dyson themselves.
is not quite true.
The contract (of purchase or sale) exists between the customer and vendor (Sainsbury's in this case) not the original manufacturer. Any returns/warranty claims/repairs are carried out by the customer dealing with the vendor and, if necessary, the vendor dealing with the manufacturer.

If you can find one of the few Fopp record stores still open they have a "suck it and see" policy. You can buy a CD and return it for a cash refund or swap if you dont like it. The receipt is required but who cares. It opened up a whole load of music for me. Some months I would return 7 out of 8 cds bought. Other months I would return none.0

Last week I returned a 15" telly to Argos which was an unwanted gift... Can anyone please clarify what their returns policy is without a receipt.Thank you.
Without a receipt, a proof of purchase (Credit Card statement etc) will determine the amount refunded. In our store, a customer who produces an item with a catlogue number apparent but has no receipt, will receive a GV for the price the item is currently selling at; wether this is a promotional price or not. Some stores will check the price history, and refund it at the lowest price possible.

So you dont have a receipt?
Retailers can be notoriously underhand about credit notes and gift vouchers .If you dont have proof of purchase for goods that are A-OK many retailers will NOT WANT to give you the CASH back.(Just remember This and see what else you CAN get)
as an example ,i took a fan back to a DIY store,it was faulty (OH had lost receipt grr). They refused to give me a refund,as i had NO proof of purchase(and had foolishly paid cash).
They didnt offer me anything else,so I asked"would you give me a credit note?" They went off to ask-reply was unexpectedly "yes, well, gift vouchers" .
"We dont give change from gift vouchers".
This is often true (well they wont give you cash but.. )
Ask "but dont you give £1 gift vouchers?"
*Being asked for your name and address with a refund-*
I know some people dont like to do this, and I think I understand the reasons, but if you give a false name and address in one shop, dont underestimate the knock-on effect it may have on getting good treatment in other shops in the area(if they find out),and your motives are misinterpreted.
No receipt-try this also
(Edit-also having been reminded a few posts down of another policy some stores have)-if you have no receipt and go in with photo /id -you could ask them if they would be prepared to refund you by cheque to your home address (this is a clear sign you are (probably)not up to anything dodgy. Many stores wouldnt consider this, and even so ,only for larger amounts.0
