Rental prices - negotiable?

I am surprised and disappointed that a new poster with a perfectly reasonable question has had to experience some quite frankly rude, sarcastic and obnoxious posts. The answer may be obvious to some but it wasn't obvious to the poster. "it's only obvious if you know the answer". The poster received some constructive advice from helpful posters and therefore it wasn't necessary for some glory seekers to stick their oar in and reduce this thread to sewer level  I hope the OP feels they can post further questions in the future and will continue to receive constuctive advice. I am a landlord but I don't treat tenants with distain like some unless they deserve it.0

On the contrary, I am gorgeous.
You however, are still VERY rude.0 -
Ok, good to know. I remember asking in an art gallery if the price of a painting I wanted was negotiable, and the gentleman took me aside and told me quietly that 'one didn't haggle like a souk vendor when one was purchasing art' - I was mortified! Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get another telling off.
Many thanks,
Lips
He was probably being paid by the art gallery to ensure people paid what they thought it was worth.
You can haggle over anything. I haggled the price down on a dress in a boutique in Covent Garden the other day because it had a slightly dodgy seam.
