Lovely to hear from you Brizzle well done on the £10 weekend :T
I'd have done the BT too, so much better to see the capital go down and you're so focused on it I can't see you holding back this time
Any news on the P P I claim?
Hope you're having a good week. Purps.0 -

Thanks everyone for popping by.
No news on PPI, but it’s been a slow burn since they asked for more information in May I think. So will give it another few weeks and then chase yet again. I too am glad about the interest too. It was a good move.
Busy week, caught up with DD1 which was lovely. Went by coachwhich was so much cheaper than train. Took a while, but it was definitely frugal. Would do that again.
Other MSE choices this week have been very cheap meals like jacket potatoes, leftovers, tracking every cent on YNAB and reconciling it every day (OH is leading the charge) OH getting some decent income from some FL work, moving from a fee based current account to a basic one - did mean getting some breakdown cover but we got that more cheaply than we thought we might using ComparetheMarket. It’s definitely a better option for us and saves a monthly fee. No heating on..still
I need to work out how long ago it is that I bought any new clothes...must be getting on for 6 months. I wonder if I try for a year. Got to be worth thinking about.
Planning another low key weekend. Hope everyone is well

Thanks ladies. Yes a lovely low key weekend doing lots of work
OH did a lot of deep cleaning which is v carthartic and have just been drinking cheap but very nice red wine with a dear friend who is getting her £hit together after splitting up with her partner of about 20 years... you know how it is. No heating on still. But did put the woodburner on (using offcuts so nil cost
) and may book a concert for dear friend (as above - celebrating getting out from under - so to speak) and it’s her birthday coming up soon. I’ll talk to OH and see if we can afford it. We are being so frugal in other areas but I still need to spend some on what matters.
Have a great Saturday all

Oh SA £300 p.m is crazy when you think about it, the fee for the BT was only £245 so just shows you.....
But still need to keep foot on debt payment accelerator.... it’s flat to the floor at the moment. A LSD today.. just bread at £6.40. Not bad for a Saturday0 -
Good afternoon folks. Wow its been a while. Lots of work going on in RL but you'll be pleased to know that we are still absolutely obsessed with money saving and debt reduction in this house. Kids are screaming re the low temperatures
and we are even thinking of selling our car and instead relying on a car club membership/hiring as and when needed (where MSE and climate emergencies like to co-incide!!) Items are on E-Bay and we are keeping grocery and other bills to an absolute minimum. We have bought another organic meat box from a local farm for the freezer but lots of veggie meals being made and the meal planning is down to a fine art with any waste going to the chickens who are still laying well (expect the clocks changing will change that tho
) or as LO's for lunches. Despite the meat box, top up fish and organic meat, top up veggies from our local greengrocers and organic veggie boxes every week, organic milk etc the grocery bill for the month is currently at £369.99. Not bad as the meat box should last months...pretty pleased with that. It also includes some entertaining and alcohol....
All the MSE is rather time consuming but if it becomes habit forming in a long term way I will take it!!
Hope everyone is good

Thanks Beanie Lou
I do feel a little mean at the no heating rule.. as it is well nippy but nevertheless we are all surviving - must be good for the constitution!
How’s you Lou? Must take a dawdle round the diaries to catch up. Been too too long... sorry all0
