Thanks everyone
Its been a nice Christmas although I realise I find a houseful stressful..and have now retreated to the study to type on here :rotfl:
Can't get over the mild weather. Heartily glad its not raining. but even so I can't get over how mild it is. Got to assume that will change sometime soon though.
Trying to get all the money stuff sorted this morning. Need to really go for it. No excuses. Have a new chart on the whiteboard to start crossing off expenses and debts. Should help focus the mind. Speaking of which I checked on a couple of credit cards today - they were less than I had expected. The focus of paying off the item put on it off immediately (or at worst a day or so later, doing a PAD a day in effect) helps the cash flow but means that the bill at the end of the month is bearable. I can't quite bring myself to fully adopt the Barefoot Investor system of no credit cards at all. Too cold turkey for me at the moment.
I paid my corporation tax and personal tax too, cleared on Xmas Eve :rotfl:. How bonkers is that. But anyway it is done. Just Vat to sort now at the end of next month and OH's bill which should be minimal.
Have sold lots of stuff on the Bay. Which is good and finally sorts my annual totals out a bit. Still poor though. Do need to get better at selling more regularly and decluttering. TCB is fine, but of course it only relates to purchases...
Speaking of TCB must sort the household insurance. A job for this evening I think.
Hope everyone is good. All the best x0 -
£27 cashback pending on insurance after doing a comparison. I’ll take that0

All good here. Just musing and updating YNAB accounts before thinking about goals for 2019. Its that time of year isn't it?
Updated my December signature too. Had a good leap forward on AFDs and also the sales. The Bay came through in the end but we are well off where I wanted to be overall. Oh well, will try again next month/year. Same for our household savings rates. Need to really push on that and limit the spends (big and small). Looking at likely uni costs for DD1 next year we know we need to be really well prepared and I need that S&S ISA to go back up - having to sell some funds to pay for the tax bill wasn't great, particularly during the current volatile times.
Using leftovers for dinner this evening even though have friends round. Gawd knows there is enough food in the house
Hope everyone is in a good place, lots of love and hugs Brizzle x0 -
Where's DD1 considering going? Cost of living in Wales is much cheaper than a lot of unis, we found! (although that (rightly so) didn't influence either of my 2 at uni's decisions - they chose the course and feel/ 'fit' of the uni) xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
