Much calmer day today and planning for the same tomorrow. I need to take it easy otherwise September will
come round again and I won’t have stopped to breathe. So... I am doing the right thing and taking some days leave to work on my side hustle. A day next week and some later in August. I’ll treat them like revision days and plan to work and do my assignments etc. Money wise It’s tight but OH will have someOT soon which should helpAll Ok here. Missing OH but he’s so pleased to be working I can’t blame him. In fact nice to see.The sun was out today. Makes all the difference5 -

Aaw, thanks beanie. Yes all good here.
The scores on the doors aren’t as pretty as I’d like. 5 main reasons - hair for 3 ladies in the house, even with It being mobile hairdressing it came to a pretty penny. She was here most of the day to be fair! A huge splurge (that’s what we call it, nod to the Barefoot Investor) on 2 family meals out and a weekend away for me and OH. But it was all amazing and I’d have happily spent double to be fair. A wedge on classes and lessons, mainly Blocks of dance courses for DD2 and a 20% deposit on some badly needed household maintenance which is scheduled for the Autumn. Basically it all adds up. So we have still saved 26.4% of our household income but it’s not where we need to be. Must do better....!Working intensely on my side hustle last few days and a days annual leave from my paid work on Monday to do the same. Am badly behind with assignments....oh well. Hope to start getting ahead by end of another week of focus.
I will read the paper with a cuppa and then go for a run. It’s sunny here. It’s nice
have a great weekend all, thanks for dropping by xxx6 -
It’s still a really good saving rate brizzle don’t beat yourself up. And we all have to live too, so a weekend away and 2 meals out are not exactly OTT. Particularly given the amount you haven’t spent in the previous 4 months in lockdown on not going out etc....
Think you’re doing amazingly. Enjoy your run. Wish I could join you.4 -
Thanks PF. You’re right but it does dribble out and I want lockdown to be the turning point. In good news our credit score is now perfect. Amazing how a concerted focus (and of course luck that am employed as usual) over 10 months can pull things back. It was not good back in the Autumn at all.
The run was ace. 6 miles exactly. I hope you can start to run again soon. Am now relaxing in the sun before starting work again. More reading...but funnily enough the more I read the more things slot together. Weird that..5 -
Congrats on the near perfect credit score!😀

Shocking lack of attention to my diary!! Must try harder.... (ROTFL emoji needed!)
Excitingly but not very MSE it’s because of a great UK holiday (I am now officially in love with N Yorkshire) and that we have decided to get a dog... a puppy arrives at the end of October... SUPER exciting
We are doing lots of in-depth reading and checking of Gumtree for accessories. It all takes time!!!:)
Otherwise still working. Am soo studying for my side hustle. Kids preparing for school and the spends are increasing. I still need to properly look at how we did things differently during the harder lockdown. Think less Amazon and eating out helped! Debt is going down more slowly now but saving for puppy and some home improvements (new French doors and a roof fix) is being done too. Will try and post more. So hope everyone is ok and doing well xx4 -
Good to hear from you
Glad that you had a good holiday.
Exciting news on the puppy
