Hi guys - hope everyone's ok.
EB69 - don't worry, it does take time to get your head round debtbusting - I still struggle, especially when i walk past Thorntons....mmmmmm
I've been a bit absent sorry. Our computer should be getting fixed early nex week so I'm still on limited usage until then.
Good news -kind of - the midwife thought the baby was in breach position, but a scan today confirms he isn't. Unfortunately, they also confirmed he has a rather large head. So my poor OH is a bit nervous now! She is secretly hoping for a section now I think! LEss than four weeks to go......
Debtbusting has taken a back step just now - I'm just paying the debts without any extra just now. Will probably be like that for the next few months. I know what it was like that last time and there just wasn't enought time to do extra stuff on top of looking after the baby and OH.
Maybe a very slight hopeful bit of good news, but not getting my hopes up. My OH has stopped work and is not planning on returning after her maternity leave ends, She was told today that there was a chance she could apply for voluntary redundancy. I can carry the can for the family for the next few years and she would prefer to be at home anyway (I did offer....trying to be a 'modern guy' and all! I would rather be a stay at home dad than go to work to be honest, but there you go). So, long and short, they may be able to secure a redundancy payment for her. She's only been there 6-7 years so it wouldn't be massive, but any extra would be a help over the next three years. We'll see what happens.
Have a good evening everyone.Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Morning all!
Payday tomorrow :T:T
that's the best day!Evening all,
Hope everyone has had ok days. Phone Company finally got back to me and have given me 6 months free line rental and £30 to say sorry for the disgracefull customer service i receieved. (not nearly good enough but means I will have an extra £13 a month to go towards something else for a few months! They also owe me £60 which they assure me will go into my bank some point this week. Hopefully this means I will now Pay Next off by next month wahoo! - this will mean another 50 to go towards something else probably one of OH's smaller CC so feeling a lot more optimistic today
poorbabe - really fancy a takeaway thanks now loltalisker78 wrote: »Hi guys - hope everyone's ok.

that'll be handy! Good luck with that
A some of you might have seen from my thread I am starting to think about a tiny weeny (and I mean tiny weeny!) dress hire/dress exchange service. Quite excited - need to think carefully about it will work 9and whether I have time to manage i - but seems to me that its a way to feed my shopping addiction without going broke :T0 -
Just when i thought the car nightmare had ended.........
Got into car this morning and it wont turn on.... had to nick brother in laws car to get to work and then other brother in law came and diagnosed it as a fuel pump problem.....when oh comes back soon i hope he can tell me how long i will be carless for.
Am thinking (and please everyone dont yell at me) about getting a new car on finance.:o
Have done research and found a polo is less than half to insue than my current car - I have spent £5000 on cars (in cash) in the last 2 years........(I sure know how to pick em .....not!) so was thinking of buying it brand new . Had a look and monthly repayments along with the insurance are exactly the same a what i currently pay for insurance on its own!!! (and good thing is itll be paid off in 3 years but i know full well ill keep car longer.)
So yeah thats my plan of action (gonna sell my car when its fixed and oh is already selling his so will mean we have a nice deposit to start on the new car)
Just hoping i can get finance  i have thought this through in a mse kind of way though.
I find out on monday about what our cuts will be although ive heard through the grapevine my job wont be one of them so i feel a bit less stressed.
Hope everyones ok today and plodding along nicely and cheaplyI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Hi all
Just thought I'd reintroduce myself. Earlier this year I was on here a lot and was determined to get rid of my huge debt. But I've lost my way as I've had an awful year - won't go into detail as I don't want to bore you but basically got married and separated, had my heart broken and bereavement of my best friend. Blah blah blah its not been good, but it is still very raw, hence I still wallow a bit
Anyway, I'm not sure how much I'm ready to get into busting my debts again yet, but I do know I'm only bobbing along at 27 with no real purpose and feeling a bit lost, so I've come back here for a bit of support really
