Morning, them two have to be the worst banks ever! Why even exist! Why say quick transfer when infact they mean days it's easier to draw out and pay over counter. I'm so mad with myself asbi was getting ontop of my overdraft but I was worried about oh's overdraft thinking mine would be ok and money would be in from a and l but no they kicked me while down I think they must monitor close to the edge overdrafts and pounce on Sundays to take u over limit. Nasty elves! Hehe anyway bette days :-) x

Ok I didn't think anything needed doing as I broke down the other week and had £135 worth of work done then! But apparently it was all suspension stuff - the car is 10 years old so to be expected. Anyway LUCKILY (you can all let your breath out now) £360 is going into the bank tomorrow to cover it when we pay at the garage in the morning. Just in the nick of time.... We are philosophical about it and it's mainly because the new budget we have just started with today (ROFLOLPIMPs) has slightly more than it should have available because DH is on holiday and he is not using his petrol allowance - the fact that his car is sitting sulking not being used because it is poorly is entirely another matter LOL So definitely getting that car boot stuff and paper stuff going now!

Hi, ahhh cars are so costly but it beats getting finance and debt for a new one lol although the thought would be nice lol .... thank god for payment coming and yay on the budget hehe ...... Hi soma hope you are well happy evening everyone xxx

oh dear Sunfleur. My OH tends to sort my car out so its not too bad - otherwise I don't think I could afford my car. Well done on the budgeting.

When we first got married we didn't have a car for the first four years - just hired one when we needed one for holidays etc. Then we had our first car written off after three days by a woman who was driving a hire car because she had JUST written off her fathers car:mad: Our next car was a wreck - all we could afford at this stage - and we threw more money at it than anything we have ever owned since! In those mature student days when you only got paid 3 times a year we just had to keep going with it and DH did attempt to get into mending it - not very successfully as everything had to be redone LOL I do remember that I had to wear a plastic bag on my right foot when it rained as the rain would come through the accelerator pedal when driving along! Luckily I am blessed with a DH that can do ANYTHING except gas work in the house and he has virtually rebuilt this small abode. Funny how he just doesn't connect with cars though.... He can read maps better than me though, and I like to do all the driving in our main car so it works out.

my OH helps me buy old nails - current car cost £225 and I've had it since November. It broke once when it was really snowing and I had to wait ages for OH to fix it as the cold weather would have been painful for his fingers. Thankfully OH can do pretty much everything to do with cars and can decorate the house. I am useless at practical stuff and would be the first to admit it.

eek sunfleur!! Thats a breattaking amount but could have been worse! my car was one of my pre-lightbulbs purchases and I have to say Twiddle has done me proud and to date hasnt broken down once! She is a new style micra and Im very fond of her-weve done alot of miles!
Must get on top of money/spending as beena bit carp of late...will be good to start work (never thought I would say that lol!) and get into routine.
How are people doing generally?

Hi isom, so lovely to see you posting and back on the longhaulers... well how are we doing in general ...
Im doing okay, getting to grips with the finances again which is hard work its very easy to slip or one charge can really make you feel mad and then send you on a sod it binge lol ... im balancing nicely today last few days i was all over mad angry hating the finances but today i am diddling fine .....:o when i look at my diary and the promises i made i feel so let down but then we all learn and have a scenic route and i will get there or "we shall get there " it takes time focus and energy ... i am enjoying doing things to the house as well as paying debts so thats nice ... i am trying to wean myself on just doing debts but i think a nice home gives a clear head .... :rotfl:well thats my excuse for spends lol lol xxx
