Welcome!! Andy would you like a number too?
HTGDF sorry to hear things are rough...if it gets too much maybe go and have a chat with GP...re oh's redundency may be worth seeing a specialist employment soilictor to see if anything can be done. They usually give 1/2 hr free and house or car insurance may cover legal fees - worth checking!
Elise if youre trying to set up a dmp would suggest you ring the people sorting it for you as they know your circumstances and the numbers...
Quiet day here - had an awful ights sleep last night so feeling belugh...
Geranium have you rung one of the free debt agencies re your debt? I'm sure it would be worth investigating even if (like me at the moment) they say there is nothing that can be done while in work (in my case)...I put it off for ages and feel really cross with myself now. It was a huge relief just to talk the numbers over with someone independent and helped make informed choices rather than innacurate guestimates..just a thought...would hate for people to be battling to pay vast sums off and realise down the line that with interest payments it was nigh on impossible to do it alone.
Re the shopping and cc's another strategy that can work for me is thinking that anything I bought was + x% due to the interest and 12x x over a year...

Thanks ISOM - good advice but actually although it is horrific when you look at it we have a pretty high income so it is manageable - just cross that I didn't decide to sort it earlier really

I have a loan that finishes next July and that wil really free things up - I feel that I got myself into this and I shold get myslef out and to be honest don't want to go down the route of payment plans etc

Every month more is paid off and the payments go down
Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak

Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help

    Hi,

We are into our 3rd year of our DMP, that's what makes it so annoying, and that's what I find hard understanding their reasoning. It must make sense to someone there .!! Sometimes it makes you wonder if its all worth it.!!

Hey Happy. Talking to someone independent is often a good idea :) Even going round to a friend's house for a relaxing cup of tea or glass of wine would prob do you good too x Working nights can't help I guess :(
Feel free to vent your frustrations on here :D

  • Thanks for advice about shopping etc isom. It does channel the mind more when you think in those terms :o I went cold turkey on my cards a while ago but of course it means I could have used that same money to reduce my interest payments  Do better next time I'm tempted :D
