It seems to be very quiet on here!! Hope it's because everyone's out and about enjoying themselves for the bank holiday :j I fell off my no spending wagon today  bought a lovely scarf in tkmaxx & no amount of telling myself 'I don't need it' worked
think will have to think of some kind of reward system as a motivator for paying more money into my cards! Oh I'm such a child......... :rotfl:

It's the only way Scooby! After 2 years of no haircuts I decided I was going to pay a very non-MSE amount of money for a cut and dye every two - three months (depending on the amount of gray!). And do you know, I've been so much better at keeping on top of things since then. I'm more than happy to meet my friend's in the pub, stick to water and drive home, but I want some-one to do my hair properly!
If you factor in a TKMaxx reward every two or three months, you'll still be spending ways less than me.

Hello,
Sorry been a bit quiet lately, had the relatives down for Easter. Nice to see everyone but a lot of work, so I'm glad they've gone! Only got a couple of days though then we are off to Aberdeen for my daughter's christening. LONG journey, and we are taking the car which makes for a LONG day! So its just a quick catch up then I'll be offline again for a few days. Really looking forward to having her christened - same place I was christened, which is why we are going there, hence the long journey! - and trying REALLY hard not to worry about the expense just for one day, because it will be worth it in years to come.
HTGDF - so sorry to hear about OH, and over the Easter holidays as well. I have a few choice words that I won't say, but am sorely tempted. I hope the last few days have given you a chance to get your head round all this and I hope you are ok. All I can say is that I know you can get through this - look at what you have achieved so far. So what if things slow down a bit on the debt busting front for a little while - it will only be temporary, and you can't overburden yourself with trying to get by and pay back as much as you can. The most impotant thing is that you and OH are well and have a roof over your heads - the rest can wait. I have to remind myself of that a lot, especially when things get bad. I KNOW you can get through this and you WILL come out the other side. We are all here for you.
Welcome teeters to the forum! Good luck with your debt busting endeavours!
Don't worry about falling of the wagon Scooby. The way I see is that you need to have the occasional little spend to offset the chances of you going out and doing a massive spend on something you really don't need ("oooohhh, look at the amazing French horn in the window, always wanted one of those and its reduced to only £300!" - then it sits around gathering dust after a week......or is that just me and my french horn obsession....?!) Moving swiftly on.... I think we all need a little treat now and then. After all, we can't live like misers all our life, we have to have a little fun don't we?? I must admit to spluring a little on Easter Eggs over the weeend - they are so lovely though. Very bad of me AND it went on the credit card. Bad, bad, bad, I know! Need to do some extra ebaying to make up for that one!
Anyway, its now 6am so the morning baby-shift starts. Have a great week everyone and hello to everyone else out there, hope we are all well and are not letting the debts get us down - just remember, it could always be worse - you could be Gordon Brown. Thank you for very wise words Talisker, think makes us all feel better :T
Hope you have a really lovely Christening for your daughter, think you just have to write off expenses like that & not feel guilty-its pretty exceptional after all & hardly like the cost of a weddingI'm sure she will take great pleasure seeing where she was Christened when she's older
Also think weather's going to be ok here for next couple of days so maybe even in aberdeen?!
Hi Happy! Try not to be stressedI'm sure everything will calm down & get back to normal when your OH starts his new job & you can forget all about the other one! I'm stressed about money & so snappy at mo even though I know it doesn't serve any useful purpose  good job it's only my dog here :rotfl:

I'm 18 months in to this now, and about halfway there. Good and bad news this month: Thanks to a small bonus at work I've been able to pay off my overdraft this month, and bring my total unsecured debts down below 15k for the first time. The bad news is that looking at my budget it's going to be a long, boring summer. Minimum payments and no treats until at least AugustLBM : Aug 08; Debt at LBM : £28,034.91

How do these things happen at the same time, as if you don't have enough to worry about! If your dad's nearby perhaps sitting with him quietly for a bit might actually make you feel better & of course help him too
Thinking of you & hope he improves quickly x:eek:CCs[STRIKE] £46287.82[/STRIKE] £40071.74 13% DFD Feb17nowNov[STRIKE]16[/STRIKE]15ODsRBS £425, A/L £2500

Hi,
I've posted this as a new thread, on the DFW board, but I am hoping that some of you may be able to answer my question.
We have been on a DMP with Payplan for just over 2 years, starting with £74k and now its down to £33k. Our new Financial Statement has gone our to our 10 creditors, after having our yearly review and increasing our payments, only slightly. Now 3 of our creditors have rejected our offers. Has this happened to anyone else, and what happens now that they have refused.
