poorbabe - I allow £300 for grocary shopping for 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 cats this included cleaning and bath.wash stuff. From what Ive read that should be enough but I still struggle.

I then allow £150 pocket money for the family split in three between Me OH and Kids Again I thought that was quite generous to what some people live on.

Today I have been naughty and spent a fiver in Mcds so bad for pocket and waistline.

  • Hi Everyone :D

I'm new to this thread but dont actually have any debt so not sure if i could still join? :o

In the next few weeks im due to exchange and complete on my first flat, so im trying to save as much as i can as i need to make the monthly motgage re-payments, loan re-payment and bills etc. Since losing my job in the summer my new job pays a lot less so its a bit of a struggle

I was hoping to use this thread as encouragement to stop spending and keep saving.

    Thanks,
    Nicole

Jewellry fan you may feel happier on the mortgage free board as they will have the same aims as you. Not that youre not welcome :) but peoples issues/struggles on here will be very different from your own. Linky above for you!

    ISOM - I wish!

That £3 in pennies helped me to buy some desperately needed batteries earlier today, along with some shrapnel I didn't realise I had in my purse.

Good news on the debt reduction TEK. That's what we like to hear :j

Not sure if this could be considered part of my debt reduction strategy but I'm now in the process of defrosting the freezer, cleaning the oven and will be emptying the contents of a large cupboard into the spare bedroom as a precursor to decluttering.

Don't you envy my New Year's Eve partying?:beer::rotfl:

Update: Leaving the cupboard til tomorrow as Doritos and dips plus beer got in the way!!

Hope you all have a great start to 2010 without too much of a hangover :T
