Too true black taxi, it makes me feel fed up most days as no spare cash at all to even live a little bit  Still plugging away, hanging in there to make a bit more room for the £178 a month better off now the loan is paid off.
ISOM, the dotty p debt increasing card is next and then is closing down as I haven't used it for 10yrs, cut it up and through it away. Guess whatyes the balance hardly reduced at all considering I pay the minimum amount each month. Have learnt this lesson after joining this site and I just had to wait a bit longer until this loan was paid off first

Am shattered after two busy days and lots of socialising so am off to bed in readyness for nasty work tomorrow...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! evening trying to stay awake on night duty hehe so I'm thinking of looking into doing my Botox training I hear the money is good and it would be nice to half my time. I intend to do some form of excersise befoore I hit the hay in the morning. How sad the weather has changed it's crap. I heard the hoverment are trying to get people to trade in cars above ten years for two thousand off a new car. No thanks I mean I want to save the world but I'm happy that my car is my car besides I can't wait to buy a car and pay in full haha xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Botox training? Intriguing. Is it difficult to train for?
I had a smidging of good news in that I was accepted for a 5.6% life of balance transfer deal from Leeds building society. Not a huge limit (£1100) but nice to move some of the expensive card (Virgin) over, so I shall be paying less interest. Then maybe in a few months I can transfer more, or convince Virgin to lower my interest rate (currently 19.9%).
Not much else going on... but sometimes thats a good thing!
Happy thoughts for all for the 4 day week!0 -

Good afternoon everyone. Happy Hump Day
I've not been on the forums in quite a while but I've read my weekly emails with interest
Not much to report really; having designated this year as the year I paid more attention to reducing my debts I, kind of, slipped into a 'depressive' haze and am only just coming out of it. Couldn't understand it really as I'm usually brilliant this time of year with the 'improved weather' and sunshine
Anyway, the debts are reducing very slowly and my monthly budget is worked out to include everything I even THINK I'm going to spend, but I sometimes slip into (authorised) overdraft mode for a few days. Nowhere near as before, but it does help me to look at my spends to see where I might need to 'relax' or tighten up for the following month.
Now that I cycle to work most weekdays I really begrudge using my Oyster card as I keep thinking "I should be on my bike" instead of sitting on this bus. Of course, I didn't think that over the weekend as drinking lots of alcohol was a lovely feature so I was either given a lift or got the bus :rotfl: On the flip side, I tend to browse cycling shops rather than clothes shops and I see lots of cycling stuff I didn't know I wanted. I also want another, faster, bike which I hope I can get if my employer still has the cycle2work scheme running this September.
Having used up most of my holiday allocation back in December/January for a long haul trip, I've been eking out my few remaining days and am now thinking the unthinkable which is to NOT make my regular longhaul trip next year and to keep chipping away at the debts and, by doing that, bring forward my DF day :eek::eek::eek:
This is a real biggie for me as I rely on those 'every other year' trips to get me through the winters and keep my sanity. Where else would I go? Well, I do have a list of countries I've talked about visiting for years, including hot European ones so I'll have to see what my alternative could be and focus on that for next February which is my birth month. I'm sure I could manage a week away rather than 3 or 5 weeks surelyIt just needs to be somewhere with hot sun, just not the Caribbean
I also thought about painting my flat this summer, amongst other things, but have decided to put that off til next year. I need to see the numbers drop some more on my debts to prove that I am really making progress. I can't believe I actually wrote that. Good Lord, I feel faint. I need to lie down :rotfl::rotfl: Whatever happened to the woman who spent without thought of tomorrow? Oh yeah, I hit my 40s and finally realised I didn't want to get to 50 and still be struggling financially :D
I'll get there, I know I will as my attitude to money is slowly, but surely changing. I'll never be completely 'sensible' but am looking forward to the day I can have mad moments with my own money.
Keep plugging away everyone - the end is in sight - honest! :j:jThe 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420
