Hello
Just ask for a number and InSearch Of Me will be along soon to award one. Just take one step at a time try doing small challanges, chucks rather than thinking about the 12 years. As long as the balcne goes down even by a £1 its the right direction. Good Luck:j0 -

I've been making jars and jars (well it seems like it) of green tomato chutney cos we stripped the greenhouses out last week. Just down to the red tomatoes now, so may do a slightly different recipe for those.
makes you feel very virtuous doesn't it, this making your own. I'm even going to have a go at home made mincemeat for Yule mince pies.Debts (incl Mortgage) at LBM (24/09/08) £102849  Now £0. DFD 1st July 20190 -
Hello!!
Wonder if I could join too please, I am definitely in for the long haul. As you can see from my signature I am owning up to, and dealing with, credit card debts of £22,828.34. I've got this down from £24,534.37 since August when I joined.
Unfortunately, I also have a loan, but I'll deal with this once I've cleared the cards, I think this is the only way I'll cope, is this an acceptable approach?
I'm really enjoying getting to know other folk on the different threads and find it helps me keep a faint grip on reality....:D

Hi all! Not going too bad on the debt front considering it was DD's birthday this month. Had a bit of a fall out with OH though today & feel bad about it. Can't really go into the all the reasons as other people who the argument is about may or may not use this site, but the be all & end all of it is OH's Brother asked if we could look after our Niece tomorrow, which wouldn't usually be a problem but OH was supposed to be doing an extra shift as overtime. If she didn't do it they would be stuck to look for someone else to do it & it is urgent. OH's Mum lives abroad & her sister is on holiday & SIL's Mum can't do it either. So OH has cancelled extra shift to help out. So that's around £100 lost. To be fair OH's Brother has offered her the money that she would lose but they are in the same boat as us regarding debts, so we wouldn't dream of expecting them to fork out £100 they haven't got & even if they did have alot of money we wouldn't expect them to pay us. I was mad with OH, saying that it's £100 we can't really afford to lose. We continued to have a 'text' argument(I was at work & she had just finished). She said family comes first before any money & she's right, I must have sounded like a right control freak. The thing is I don't mind if she doesn't do the extra shifts & she does them as she wants to get out of this mess as much as me & also save as much as possible towards the wedding. We are getting on top of things so why I over reacted I do not know & we didn't speak most of the day. I guess debt sometimes makes life alot more stressful than we'd like it to be. As I say we have made up now, but at times like this I do wonder why I get wrapped up in the whole worrying about debt thing IYKWIM. Thanks for reading & all the best.Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Welcome both of you.If you can tell us a bit about you - its easer to support people when you know about them and how/why they got int debt etc...I for instance was just incredibly wasteful with money, didnt have a budget and spent with what can only be decribed as wild abandon....alas it will take longer to pay it off than it did to spend it but whats done is done and despite it all I dont regret the last fling which was taking my mum to new york for a week - when I pay my debts off hope to do the same but this time with actual money that I have...full circle!
Yes marg it does make me feel virtuous but then I also flog it so make money too!
ltm...I can understand why you were cross - I would have been and would have said no tbh - after all asking someone the day before too much and I think a bit unfair - hope the reason for wanting you to babysit and loose so much money was of vital importance!!! Hope you sort it though and are speaking to mrs ltm again!
Had planned to go to the allotment today but its chucking it down! Instead I will make jam and prepare my operation christmas child box...some of course will arge us fw'ers cant afford it but my feeling is that my debt is my fault and will be paid off - theirs isnt their fault and many will live a life of poverty forever so this is my way of sending love to just one child this year...makes me feel good plus an opportunity for a bit of shoppling lol!

if anyone is interested although its a Christian organisation so not everyone may be comfrtable with thatNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
the christmas child boxes are great arent they. Havent got round to doing one but did donate around 100 (still cant believe the number) of cuddly toys the 3 kids had amassed over the years to the program. The smaller ones go in the boxs and the larger ones get sent out separately.
I have fallen by the wayside on the moneysaving front. Still trying to be good but have no idea of my bank or cc balance. Will check at some point today and have a mini fit Im sure.
Made £35 through my first proper bodyshop party and have another tonight so hoping that takes off abit.:j0
