  • Out of curiosity OP, have you tried a different UK postcode? Just to see if it's the location you live in that insurers are not liking for whatever reason (might not just be a theft thing).

Yes in fact and this is what boggled me... Using a countryside Postcode like Dartmouth TQ6
even being 16 and EU license i got give a 1100 quote, when swapping to 17 and UK license it went further down to about 700. In fact changing age and license made a bigger difference here than a relatively suburban area
I understand cities have more accidents etc but that still doesn't explain why people living near me with the same age are paying a 5th of what i'm quoted, I think people all the way out in Dartmouth are paying 200-300 too not 700-1100. Either way I'm moving soon and also about to swap in my license so i hope that will bring it down. If I can absolutely not change the prices I guess I'll resell the bike and buy one a year down the line, hell I might even wait for A2 but I'm sure as hell not gonna pay any insurer 2x my bike's value. By the way I bought it for 1600 which was a bargain but even "valued" its 2000 at the very very most, funnily enough though playing around with value on GoCompare didn't change the prices, neither the miles, on that note I'm also only planning SDP usage and no commuting so even less of an idea while the area affects it, like who with SDP rides around in congested dangerous city roads?? If there are any other suggestions in regards to specific brokers/insurers i should try please let me know.

Add to my previous list changing postcodes - with all the playing about you've probably triggered everyone's fraud alerts..
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
  • Well I did all of my legitimate details the first time around and called them up too when i was calling Bike-sure they re-did their calculation while on the phone understanding the situation as for the other details I've only done after calling up all of them and trying to figure out what is the cause. Fact remains that prices changed massively based only on post code so fraud alerts are probably not the cause cause if i enter my original details right now i still get the exact same quote for some of the companies.
