Since the OP is only seeking 3rd Party cover, then the theft risk is irrelevant to the quote...
Aren't insurance companies liable/potentially liable if a stolen vehicle is involved in an accident?

did read, it wasn't clear. Having now read everything again, you've been riding in another country for a year which doesn't really tie in with having lived in the UK for 6 years.

Okay sorry let me clarify, I visit my grandparents every school holiday and I have a motorcycle there, I always ride it and easily put 4000 miles on it during a year. I've had it for 2 years but i don't really want to count the first year since back then it was only used off road due to not having a license back then. Insurers are supposed to cover drivers legally from any country since it's in their interest to not have uninsured drivers on the road. I live in the UK and am a resident. As for "gaming the system" It's not really gaming. Everywhere in europe you can have an A1 license at 16 except the UK. Insurance prices are off the chart because the of this dumb CBT law... Encouraging a fully licensed 16 year old to ride in my opinion is FAR safer than some 17 year old or even a 30 year old pizza delivery rider who has done an 8hr crash course. Incidentally riders with only a CBT make up the majority of the accidents and claims cases pushing up the prices for everyone else. Now I'm not saying that the UK should just change their laws to be in line with the EU standard especially since we are leaving the EU soon, i know that's not how it works but this is the reality of it. Now, again as i said i asked for quotes as if I was 17 with a Full UK license which would include no gaming the system or anything of the sort - and prices didn't change by any significant margin

Exactly - that's what is meant by "gaming the system" - finding a way to ride in the UK at an age that is younger than is allowed natively. We're not trying to suggest that you are cheating - you are just using a non-conventional means to try to achieve this and they are seeing that for what it is.

Your age is just one example of why you are likely to have dropped out of the "standard quotes" part of the system. Not having a normal UK licence is another, and there may well be additional factors that insurers look at.

I really wish people would listen to the OP, we know that his age and licence are NOT a factor due to the below....

So what else could it be that would make his insurance so much higher than that of his peers.

Out of curiosity OP, have you tried a different UK postcode? Just to see if it's the location you live in that insurers are not liking for whatever reason (might not just be a theft thing).

His age and licence are most definitely a factor.

:rotfl: so when he does a dummy quote at the age of 17 with a full UK A1 licence and gets the same price (which he HAS done) how are his age and licence a factor?

    *facepalm*

Do people not read beyond the first 2 words these days??

    At 20 I bought a Z800 - my first quote was £2000.

So your price is probably right and you wont get much cheaper.
You'll find me sat in the corner with a pack of dry roasted and a Guinness.

So age has no impact at all on an insurance quote? Ok, thanks for your words of wisdom...

No, go and READ what is written. Everyone is saying him being 16 and on an EU licence is the problem, however he has done a dummy quote for being 17 (UK legal age) AND a full UK A1 licence but his quotes are still the same.

That clearly shows his age of 16 and EU licence are not what is making his quote sky high, especially when his class mates (likely of similar age) are getting their insurance for more realistic prices.

Either understand what is being said before you comment or go and troll elsewhere.

I have read it all and understand. Regardless of what has been written it is absolutely ludicrous to suggest that his age and licence type will have no influence whatsoever on the quotes he is receiving. If you don't know what you're talking about then why bother wasting your time responding?
