Hope everything goes well on Tuesday with your daughter. My son started school in September. He is one of the oldest in his class as he turned 5 in October. In this area they only have one intake a year in September so he just missed out. I'm so glad I got to spend an extra year with him. Even now, I wish I could pick him up a lunch time like I did when he went to playschool.
He loves school and was quite excited tonight going to bed as he'd see all his friends. I'm sure your daughter will really enjoy herself.
With regards "bum wiping" - we still have to sit and read a story when he goes to the toilet at home!!!! I'm sure his teacher doesn't do this!! I know my friends children of the same age (5ish) still want parents to do it!!! I wouldn't worry about it!

How likely is it that she will need the loo at school? I know DS3 would always rather wait and go at home ... Year 6, school trip, postcard said "I miss you and my toilet." Not necessarily in that order, I might add!
And he was also a late self-wiper, and it's only very recently that he's stopped blocking the loo regularly because he was using half a roll of loo paper to do it ...
Star charts? You refusing to do it until she's had a first wipe? I think that's how I got DS3 on to it ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

after my little cry outside the school gates this moring after she had gone in. all i felt was pride that she was happy to go.
