My sister sent me a screenshot of her non-winning premium bonds and I had to ask what the picture was in the background as I'd never seen it before 😂😂 (apparently it's nettles...)
Ridiculous day here. Covid study man came and we had an absolute fiasco trying to get enough blood for the finger !!!!!! test. Mr Cheery managed it (creating quite a bit of mess in the process), but I barely managed a drop 🙄
The I had a 2 hour meeting with new boss - he's lovely, but he does talk rather a lot 🙄 Bless him, trying very hard to get it right (didn't always manage it but hey). Said some nice things about me though 😁
Then an ineffective afternoon, a very necessary cafe trip, discovery of some shoddy stonework upstairs 😮 a bit of squabbling, and then I ended up working til 8.30pm, before taking the recycling out.
Drained and washed out. Tomorrow is my first Friday off and I don't feel remotely celebratory as I've only worked 2 days this week, neither effective. Finding it very difficult to work at the minute with everything going on 🙄
Anyway, tomorrow is another day, and I have a cheery little jaunt planned to see an exhibition of a cheery artist not far up the road 😁8 -

Yes, enjoy your Friday off Cheery - it sounds as if you are more than ready for it.
We cashed in my Premium Bonds a few years ago (to pay for something, probably a holiday) but bought some more in July - so this was the first eligible draw. Nothing won, so will have to continue dreaming! It's not difficult!

Thanks folks.
I did do £1.64 worth of Prolific studies dotted throughout the day, which is good! Just had a spin on the Happy Wheel - won 25p, then lost 46p. Could do better 😂7 -
I bought some PB for the first time in my life last week, all because of the regular MSE mention of wins, so Oct 2nd will be my first draw and I am actually excited about it.
Well done on all your wins - what does that work out as in terms of your rate ? Sounds like way more than 1%DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

We've won £425 so far, which is (I think) just under 1% of £45,000. I confess I'm not brilliant at working out interest etc - that's obviously over just a few months, not the whole year.6 -
Of course there's always the *chance* of winning more (which clearly doesn't translate into reality very often 😂). As far as I know Martin's always said not to bother with them because a normal hugh interest account will always do better - but at the minute savings account interest is so poor, premium bonds is as good a place as any (although I have a vague feeling he said it's as good a place as any for amounts over £10k - under that your lower chance of winning means you'd probably get more in a savings account).
Better explanation here!

First Friday off because of a four day week! You sound shattered, but a good cafe trip can help. Hope today is better.2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Cheery, for your finger p r i ck test, if you have to do it again, a warm bath gets the blood flowing for it, I’ve heard. Don’t think that’ll be too much of a hardship for you, although timing might be tricky!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
