And now I've rung two more kitchen people - both I already knew were busy til July but can't get anyone before then anyway. Both a bit reluctant to quote so we'll see what happens...7
-
It might be worth having the conversation with them about whether they'd be willing to do it as a series of smaller jobs. Or finding different trades to do different bits. Fitting my kitchen took a while, but the fitter was able to do it between other jobs as there was nothing to take out or make good and the electrics were already done/done later. Obviously I still haven't got round to finding a plumber... but everything else works!8

It may well come to that greenbee, although at the minute I'm going to persist with just getting one person/firm to do the lot - trying to avoid the complication of coordinating loads of different people... but we'll see.6

I don’t enjoy the project management- but I can’t tolerate people in the house for weeks on end either, particularly when I’m working. Can’t win!5

I'll certainly be factoring all this into my choice of next house 😂😂 Might just try to get straight into some kind of retirement village 🙄
Some progress today.
* Confirmed kitchen geezer will visit on Wednesday
* Freezer door seal being delivered between 12.52 and 1.52 today apparently 😂
* Emailed windows people to confirm - I did confirm on the phone last week but want something in writing (and also wanted to remind them to give me a date)
* Finally read email about breakdown cover - that's going to automatically renew on Wednesday. It's £5 more than last year, but still only £60 so I'm going to leave it.
Older car has a flat battery, so that's a job for the weekend 🙄 Yawn. I also want to make some more progress on the kitchen ceiling (might even start painting some of it!) and have a good tidy up of the house, which I'm sure will make me feel better.
Might try to get some of the bags of clothes to the supermarket collection point, and do a tip run with the embarrassing amount of bottles in the coal shed - we don't have a doorstep glass collection and haven't taken them for months 😮
Right, stopping for lunch now and I'd best have an omelette - got an alarming number of eggs mounting up on the side 😮😂7 -
Four eggs eaten, and an email from internet provider confirming our reduction from £44 to £30 a month.
Oh, and the LPG bill went out of the bank this morning - £613 😮😮 It's easier to keep track of now I've switched from monthly direct debits, but it's a bit of a shock 3 times a year 😂6 -
Ouch to the LPG bill, our gas and electricity are a bit more but go out monthly so not such a shock.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

It's always a bit of a shock when we fill our oil tank - I know it's going to need topping up about 3 times a year and I know approximately how much it's going to cost but it still makes me wince 😆
