Morning chums
I'm finding mornings quite difficult at the minuteNormally I'm most energized and effective in the morning, but at the minute I'm waking up agitated and finding it SO hard to settle into work. Still barely done anything useful yet and it's 10.30 now. Finding it very difficult not to raid the stash of edible Christmas presents I bought for other people
Might get on the standing desk (which is basically just an extra table to put on top of the normal desk). Maybe I'll focus a bit more if I'm standing up!
Found a thread under the savings section last night listing a big load of savings accounts, many local ones which Martin doesn't list as they only cover certain areas. One of them is mine, so he going to investigate tonight. There were also a couple of other regular savers that I'd not seen before. Rates all about 1.1%, which is a far cry from the 5% at the start of last year, but better than nothing!
Still not sure what I'm going to replace the main Post Office savings account with - the 0.8% rate drops to 0.1% next Wednesday.
Right, best get on I suppose. I think standing up is definitely a good option, I can already feel my shoulders hunching...6 -

ooooo Cheery - that is quite the find! - any chance you can bung the link or thread name on here?
Our savings accounts are quite pitiful at the moment other than the ones that are fixed terms & my regular saver which just sees the same money siphoned back in year after year after year! Then that amount and the interest gets dumped back into my current on the anniversary - no compound interest benefits there!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!5 -

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6106986/regular-savings-accounts-the-best-currently-available-list/p1 Sorry the link isn't imbedded, I haven't fathomed out how to do it on the new forum - any hints tips or instructions welcome.
This is the one I have found, I have had a quick browse and it looks promising, but I haven't found anything specifically local to me, think it is more the region I live in as a problem with the thread information.

Thanks Cheery, thanks Baileys Babe (I don't embed links either, by the way!). This month *has* to be finance month for me, and that's exactly the kind of thing I need.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Awwww, BB! Thank you - I do feel a disclaimer coming on, but there you go. I'll read RT's explanation. I've done it on my old blog, but never on here ....2023: the year I get to buy a car4

I've certainly not figured to how to embed links of a phone, which is how I do most of my posting these days!
This week seemed to drag at the start but today i've been surprised that it's been Thursday rather than Wednesdaywe did manage to get out for a walk in the daylight again so that was good, really hoping to keep that up.
Nothing financial to report. Still no LPG delivery. Ordered a new phone screen cover before Christmas which sul hasn't arrived - turns out it's coming from America and hasn't even left there yet. It's shipping with DHL, aaaaaand I had an unexpected customs bill from them the other day for a lamp I ordered from etsy which came from Turkey (and the seller explicitly said it wouldn't attract customs fees so I need to contact them). Hope DHL don't hold my new parcel hostage til I pay for the other one!
There's always some tedious bit of stupid admin to sort out, isn't there??Mr Cheery maintains he's got through life perfectly well without doing such things, but I personally prefer to just get it over and done with!
