Cheery's country living adventure

Morning chums

The sun is shining this morning, and I have been over to inspect our fully planted woodland for the first time. I saw it in progress, but by the time it was finished it was snowing, and I was SO busy at work, but today the weather is lovely (if freezing) so I've been for a wander. How very exciting!
But since then, I've done nothing but scroll mindlessly through my phone
I don't mind lazing around, but I want NICE lazing - reading a book, having a bath, enjoying the fairy lights - not just mindlessly consuming other people's opinions about things I'm not even interested in
So I've turned the internet off on the phone for a while, and come in here on the laptop (yes, using the internet
) to post a more detailed list.
10.30-12: Chickens and garden
* take chickens some more water and a treat
* shift more woodchip onto the veg patch paths
* put some soil in the greenhouse to dry out so I can top up the chicken dust baths in a few days
12-1: Lunch and kitchen
* make and eat something wholesome
* tidy kitchen and do washing up ready for Christmas dinner prep
1-2: House stuff
* tidy bedroom
* change sheets
* run hoover round downstairs
* quick dust in living room
2-3.30: Walking and neighbours
* take cake to nearest neighbour
* take present to other neighbour
3.30-6: Resting and cheerfulness
* final round of beaky treats
* nice leisure!
* more sewing, maybe with a film
Evening
* video call with pals
* finish wrapping Mr Cheery's presents
* make sure dishes are washed for Christmas breakfast
* watch The Snowman
* festive drinks!9 -
Oh dear Cheery - OH & I are in hysterics about your his & her samples!🤣🤣🤣
...and in fact before I told him your 'punch line' he made a quip about what you should have said to the receptionist...
...it was a bit more colourful than yours! 🌈4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 7 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 17 mths)7 -
😂😂😂 Do tell RT! (I should point out that I didn't even say my 'punchline' to the receptionist, just mumbled something like 'er, yes, Dr so-and-so asked me to bring it') 😂
Well I got SOME things done!
* chickens have had food, water and treats - today a couple of apples poked onto a stick and stuck into the ground - a HUGE success
* shovelled a load of soil into the greenhouse to dry out
* faffed about rigging up a very temporary enclosure for them while we get round to their main extension (which will be fully permanent and predator proof, whereas the temporary extension will only keep out the wild birds)
* tidied kitchen, and Mr Cheery has done Christmas dinner prep
* changed sheets and put some clothes away
* made more present bags - kept going until I broke both needles on the overlocker then decided to call it a day
Really pleased with them though! I've made nearly 40 I think
* hovered and dusted living room
* took cake to one neighbour and present to another
* wrapped all Mr Cheery's presents (took about 10 mins thanks to my new bag system, hooray!)
Didn't manage a healthy lunch, or tea... oops. Oh well. Just about to jump in the shower before our video call, then we'll watch The Snowman and the Snowdog, with a little festive tipple.
I might pop in tomorrow for a bit of plotting and scheming (there are always just the two of us so it'll be a quiet day) but if I don't, Merry Christmas! Xx9 -
Merry Christmas Cheery.
Thanks for the idea regarding the apple on a stick, I will try that with my girls.

Merry Christmas you lovely lot!
Hope you're all cosy and peaceful, wherever you are
All cheerful here. Lovely sunrise, so I went for a little walk and had a nice chat with my mum. All family phone calls done now, and I'm cosy inside with my new fair isle leg warmers
Weather is still nice, but I'm not feeling any compulsion to be gardening (it's freezing out there!) Instead I'm going to have another cuppa, and do some plotting and scheming with my new exciting pens
