Ha, thank you SC but I missed your message and now there's nothing
I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app this morning in case I'd got in some kind of limbo. It keeps telling me to enable location services - even when GPS is on it says that. Hey ho, will keep trying for a while!
Exciting news (well, kind of) - new car passed its MOT this morning! Took it to the local garage as an experiment, they actually did it this morning and rang me, which is a big improvement on normal garage who usually I end up ringing by about half 3Only one advisory, brake pads, and I've booked it in to fix in a couple of weeks as I suspect that's what's making the vile shrieking noise
Bit of a faff - we took both cars to drop it off, came home, went out again to the cafe (driving past the garage), then 10 mins after we got home, they rang, so we're going to have to go out again in both cars to get itHey ho - theoretically I could walk (it's about 3 miles across the fields though and I don't have time for that today!)
So car pot is looking healthy, I had about £600 in there as MOTs are usually a bit of a gamble with two rickety old cars, but this time round hasn't been too bad! (Touch wood...)7 -
Gah! I thought you'd probably be busy, but I would have felt guilty if I'd not flagged it up! I get the "we can't find you" thing as well, but they still seem to come through 🤔
Great news on the car, I don't think I ever managed to have a car pass without any work needed!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I think we must get different things - mine has been the same surveys for the last few days, nothing (paid) new. No issues with the location thing though?
Excellent news about the MOT and the garage!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Our normal garage always just does the work and THEN takes it to the MOT test centre so I'm not sure I've ever had one that's failed, whatever state they were in when I dropped them off
These new folks just did a test, so I was a bit daunted
glad it passed though as it runs out tomorrow - I was cutting it a bit fine and expecting them to be available with 2 days notice like the normal garage, but I actually had to wait two weeks!

Suspect that might be less to do with the different garage and more to do with the fact that all the cars that were supposed to be MOT'd in lockdown are now coming due.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ah yes, you're probably right. Other garage isn't a test centre so won't have been as affected by that (most people just go for a test, rather than checking first).
This lot are very rural too so it might be something to do with being the o ly garage for miles7 -
Oh, and our normally excellent postie has delivered a parcel for a neighbour by accident - we can just pop it round of course, but while technically they're 'next door', they're actually about half a mile away7
-
Hey cheery all caught up on your diary. I hope you’re having a good weekend x6
-
Gosh Missy, did you really keep reading all the way through
well done! I feel I should at least buy you some cake
did you glean any insights from having an overview??
Another parcel for the same neighbour delivered today by our incompetent postieyesterday he handed Mr Cheery the neighbour's parcel AND a letter addressed to us (and Mr Cheery didn't have his glasses on so didn't realise til he got inside). How could both addresses be right??
Hey ho. I'll put a note on the door tomorrow!
Had a nice afternoon, met up with a couple of friends and walked through the woods, then got a takeaway cuppa. Now I've run a bath so I suppose I'd best go and get in it.
Payday yesterday so I'll be able to do a bit of money shuffling in the morning9
