The last set-up used HDMI cables cheery - although I had one HDMI port on the docking station and had to put the other one through a converter which made the screen flicker. This docking station has no HDMI ports, so I went through my large box of cables and found display port (which it has two of). I might try the DP again next week and see whether it's behaving. I suppose I should keep a spare HDMI/DP/VGA cable or two just in case of future changes...8

Ooh, my first streetbees survey!! 20p
plus two about pets that screened me out when I chose 'bird'

I got screened out of the pet one too when I chose "dog" (BF's son has one and they've both been staying with us since April, so I've appropriated him as my own for survey purposes 🤣!) They're obviously looking for something very specific! I'm surprised you're not getting the same ones I'm getting though (I don't recall doing much in the way of profiling questions when I set mine up, so thought everyone got the same). These are what I've got available right now - they obviously think I'm a bit of a boozer 🤣!

Likewise... and cat ones, so maybe it’s cats they’re interested in? Not that I’m much help with that, as they have a mainly home cooked meal!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It might just be that I'm missing them! There was obviously some kind of set up process that I've now got through - there's all kinds on there now (none of it paid, mind you). Now I know things are happening I'll keep checking...
Did a bit of work this morning, I HATE working at the weekend. I can happily carry on til 7 or 8pm (and frequently do at the minute) but I can't get going again if I stop for tea, and I do NOT like doing it at the weekend. My only condition is if it's for eg a funding bid that will directly benefit my own careerwhich in this case it is.
Tried yesterday and got SO resentful, so today resorted to working while I was still in my dressing gown, thus convincing me that it wasn't actually the start of the day yetDone now (not the whole thing, but the bit I had to do before tomorrow), so I'm just having a cuppa and then I'll get dressed and start the day

Evening MSE chums
Another long day, although I did manage to finish work at 6.15 (rather than 8pm as it has been some nights recently) so I'm counting that as a success!
Got the food side of things nicely sorted at the minute. Did I say I'm doing the Joe Wickes plan at the minute? Anyway, made a giant load of breakfast muffins last weekend so I can just defrost some and it's like having cake for breakfast, which always eases me into work nicely
Made a load of granola last night so had that for lunch - I teach 11-2 with less than 5 mins between classes on a Monday so either I have to stuff it in as classes are swapping over, or wait til 2 by which point I'm starving - did smoothies last week which were good to gulp down but today waited and had granola, and very nice it was too.
Then yesterday I also made a cottage pie thing with cauliflower instead of potato on the top, made four portions so just had that for tea again tonight - not even bothering to freeze the remaining two, think I'll just eat them tomorrow and Weds.
I like not having to think about cooking every day!
Not spent anything today, although farmer did pop round to say he'd been pricing up our stable roof. Looks like it might be somewhere around £6-8k depending on whether we have insulated roof panels or not. Not too bad, and worth it to fix up that building before we lose it completely to the weather. We can use that for storage too which means we can free up some other spaces.
That's it I think! Streetbees seems to have frozen so I might uninstall and start again - apparently I've done 10 surveys now and earned a grand total of 20pwon't give up the day job just yet
Had some sad news this morning - a family friend has diedshe used to live next door to my grandma when we were kids, and was at all our family gatherings. When I went to university they both used to send me food parcels, which I did not need, but which I loved getting. I'm carrying on the tradition with my young cousin who's just gone herself- not sure she's appreciating it but it's making me laugh, and nice to carry on this lady's memory I think.

Sorry to hear about your family friend Cheery, she sounded like a lovely lady. I like that you're continuing the tradition of food parcels with your niece - I'm sure I'll do similar when mine are big enough, but expect that they will also be bemused by it!
You're sounding very organised with the meals at the moment.
Re Streetbees... it seems a bit hit and miss - nothing new for several days and then a random glut of surveys. Same goes for the payments. I'm up to £2.90 now, which isn't too bad.
Finishing work at 6.15 rather than 8 sounds like a big win!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Sorry to hear about your family friend @Cheery_Daff. What a lovely way to remember her with a continued tradition. I'm sure your cousin is delighted to receive the parcels - it's wonderful to receive a surprise in the post.

Thank you all
Nothing much to report today. Another long day at work, but at least this time working on some longer-term stuff which makes a nice change from the firefighting I've been spending most of my time doing recently!
Just nipped to the supermarket and used one of my research voucher things to cover most of the costNeed to get on to them - they missed a week, then tried to come twice in one week, and now it looks like they're going to miss a week again. What a faff!
I need to organize myself with the vouchers though - at the minute they're stored in my email which is hardly ideal, faffing about at the checkout. Might print them off, then Mr Cheery can take them if he goes (and we can write on how much is left!)
Did a 60p YouGov survey yesterday - o ly another £30 odd til payout8
