Background: Female | 36 | student | renting | in debt | no savings
Debts:
(student)
Barclays OD (student account): 498
Nationwide OD: 250
(DMP)
Natwest OD: 1221
Natwest Loan: 4651
JD Williams: 1747
Very: 772
(Credit Cards)
Lloyds: 474/500
Marbles: 500/700
Aqua: 177/200

Capital One: 187/200
Barclaycard: 399/400
(DCA)
ARC: 587
CRS: 89
Motormile: 487
(Other)
Credit Union: 1058
TOTAL: 12512
My aim is to have my credit cards paid off by January 2019. I also want to start trying for full & final offers on the DCA debts as well as Very as soon as that gets defaulted.
I currently receive a student loan that breaks down to £799 a month as well as £700 from my OH for his share of the bills. Outgoings are £2100-2300 a month. I currently work 23 hrs a week and bring home £900 ish a month. If I can stick to the budget then I am ok
Eventually I will be leaving my perm job and going bank/agency, to have more flexibility.
My credit union loan is cleared next May (if I don't clear it sooner) and my flight will be paid off by this October.

I think your Dad might prefer you put the money you'd spend on him onto paying off debts. Why don't you make a booklet with a list of things you'll do for him? I.e. take him shopping one day/clean the car etc.Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0

It would have cost me more to go visit him.
Received a reply from NCO (Very), one of my creditors in my DMP, that they accept my payment of £1 to be reviewed in June. Going to stick to £1 till they default me then try for a full and final. They are notorious for being difficult to deal with.
Having another think of how I shall be paying off this debt. Instead of leaving my perm job and just going bank, I am going to stay here as long as possible and use the bank money to pay off the cc + DMP debts (£200-300 ish a month). My uni also gives us £750 in 3 instalments throughout the year so that will also go towards them. or offers to the DCA debts. For May that amount will need to be £130+, which is above min payments on my credit cards.Debt £7976 | Savings £350Aims: Buy first home 2026-8. £20k deposit0 -
