I just got greedy - no other word for it - I didn't have a 'full' button and never felt uncomfortable after eating large quantities of unhealthy food. I kept buying next size up clothes till I was a good size18, going on 20. I am tall and broad (size 8 shoe) so could carry off the increasing size, to an extent. At my heaviest I was 15st 9lbs and I still wasn't concerned.

A couple of health issues within a 12 month period was my wake up call - a cancer scare that took months to resolve, fortunately in my favour, and gall bladder problems which necessitated a very low fat diet prior to surgery. I lost a stone under my own steam before starting SW, and just over 3st since.

I still have the 'greedy' impulse on occasion, especially around chocolate.

    Todays non Sp, Sp day
B 2 slices wholemeal toast with 1 light cheese triangle, satsuma
L Cottage cheese with large salad and beetroot - I haven't eaten beetroot since I was at school, when we were served it with every school dinner - not as bad as I anticipated! Navel orange
D grilled steak with mushrooms onions grilled tomatoes and more salad
Syns for a bit of lighter than light salad dressing, and a mid afternoon chocolate biscuit (5.5) so far.
See this was me, i am tall and size 8 feet and although i looked fat:rotfl: i didnt look the weight i was, my target weight is some people's starting weight:eek: but i want to be able to maintain and will be happy with my loss and a size 16 and diabetes was my wake up call:eek::eek:

Well done, Stoke (brilliant, actually - and congrats on SOTW)

I do a running total alongside my food diary but yours is much prettier.
maman, that’s what I used to do, but I wanted something more ‘in my face’ and it is! It’s just the wrong week to have started it; it’s my birthday today and I have [STRIKE]been force fed[/STRIKE] eaten lots of things that are ‘incompatible with weight loss’. I’m out again tomorrow and Friday too. I shall have to stay in bed at the weekend (apart from footie) to keep me away from unfree food! So I’m not posting ‘pretty pic’ today. :(

I hope you found a container for your gift, beanie.

    Evening everyone
My story essentially is I have been big all my life- Ive always overeaten ever since I was a child. Food was always a huge comfort to me. I was diagnosed with very severe Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome when I was 16- I never even bothered attempting to lose weight as I knew it would likely be impossible. I joined SW after I had a hysterectomy for cancer six years ago- lost 6.5 stone but after I had my gallbladder out I once again turned to food for comfort and just piled it all back on again! Those who have frequented these threads for a while will know that I have had many attempts since then but this is the only one that has worked- Ive lost 3 stone 1lb since July last year- my previous attempts got to about a stone loss at the most :D
Im shattered today- spent most of the day in the library trying to finish my assignment but missing out on the sunshine :( its been a lovely day today- I stupidly put on one of last summers dresses. The words potato sack spring to mind as its a size 22 :rotfl: Thankfully assignment is gone and Im going to have a well deserved break! In the last two weeks I have researched, written and submitted 7000 words (2 assignments of 3000 and 2000 words, and my 2000 word study proposal for my PhD application) and my poor old brain is fried! Im weighing in tomorrow and then Im doing absolutely sweet nowt for 2 days! Off to London on Saturday to watch the player I sponsor play for Nottingham against Ealing Trailfinders. I have carefully arranged my time so I can make a quick pit stop at Bond Street for Victorias Secret before the game :D Im just going to have to ensure my bag is fastened firmly though or that could get quite embarrassing:rotfl:

    Today!!!8217;s menu: SP day today.
B: HEXB HiFi x2, extra mint choc chip cereal bar (3.5) 2 pears, decaf coffee with HEXA
L: Tuna and egg salad, apple, water
T: Spaghetti Bolognaise (carrot spaghetti, 5% mince with mushrooms, peppers, onions, passata and some mixed herbs and oregano) Halo Top vanilla bean ice cream (3.5) and blueberries. Decaf coffee with HEXA
S: HEXB toast, 2.5 syns for spread and tsp of jam. Hula Hoops Pufts (3.5) cup of Pukka lemon and ginger tea
    Syns: 13
    Night all xx

I'm another tall person with big feet, wearing a lot of black and kidding myself the weight which went on didn't show. At my slimmest I am a size 10 but more usually a 12, but over the last year I'd gone up to a 14/16 for the first time ever. I'm just short of 2 stone lighter now and back in a size 12 but I'd like to lose another stone to stone and a half and get back to a 10.

I had a terribly stressful year last year too and just made bad food choices. I also had to take some medication as a result which had a side effect of weight gain. The year began with my child being extremely ill coinciding with mr starting a new high pressure job. Within 4 months, the child was on the mend but my boss had resigned and I was given his acting up position to the end of the year. My sister then became ill and I was flying backwards and forwards between home and her hospital in another country because she was critical for a couple of months. Then she died and there was family fallout over her funeral arrangements. It was constantly one thing after the other and the only saving grace was my wonderful husband and kids and a very sympathetic employer without either of whom I'd have gone under.
