Karmacat: I'm passionate about my DFW journey to riches

Ha! I see my last post began with "I still have my cold"!. Ha! Well, I still have it. When I speak on the phone, people say "you're starting to sound bit better", and I am, but a couple of times a day I'm still on my hands and knees fighting for breath. I don't like writing it and seeing it, but thats the truth. And it really is just a cold, not anything dramatic! I was like this in my teens (which is a long time ago!).
Still, it makes sense of why I haven't done any debtbusting recently. Hi ho. I'm just starting to look at things again, but May's £10 challenge is shot to ribbons, of course. Roll on June. Please. Please!
Just had an automated message from my workaday credit card, that I pay off every month. Except, I haven't paid it off, cos it was when I was ill. B*gger.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Karma, that doesn't sound like "just a cold", you must be pretty run down and need to do everything you can to build your strength back up. Money takes second place to health every time.
Have you got any plans for the weekend?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Oh dear, that doesn't sound good :grouphug: Take care of yourself and of course put that before the debt busting. Hope it clears up soon xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Thanks guys - honestly, it really is just a cold. Its how it takes me when I'm very run down - I used to get this every 6 weeks before I knocked chocolate and sugar on the head.
Taking care - echinaces, multivit, vit c, manuka force 10. And fresh food, at least I'm managing to cook now- okay, heat frozen veg, sometimes peel veg, and chopping veg to make a salad. Must remember to eat carbs as well. No plans for the weekend - at the mo, I don't really trust my voice for longer than about 5 mins.
What I have done, the last few days anyway, is to get the bedroom back into reasonable shape, and its made me feel a *lot* better. Clean lines, no clutter, whereas it had been all over the place. And *clean* - using polish and whatnot! I just feel happier being up there now. I want to finish off with some voile kind of curtains, and then I'll do the same to the living room - getting rid of ornaments - they're nice, but I don't actually like the finished look, which I never really realised before. And its low energy - as I'm getting better, I have to do *something*, otherwise I really will just dribble down a drain, and this is good.
This is me signing off and going back to bed!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Not recently, but within the last 4 years or so...Don't forget zinc too.

Aw, thanks Z - as I say, I've got the multivits, which should give me zinc - yep, just been to check, 100% of RDA. And its a probiotic.
I hesitate to say this, but with the research thats coming out nowadays about the long term effects of binge drinking, I'm wondering whether I did myself some damage in my teens and twenties - a big crowd of us used to drink all day Saturday and Sunday, all the time. I stopped before they did, I stopped enjoying it, but I just wonder if I damaged my ability to digest micronutrients and what not. Probably not, but it does make you wonder....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ha! I actually came back online to do the 4th in a WR of 5, so poppped off to do it.... and while I was studying which match to take, the odds changed on my chosen one... in my favour! Hurray! Match is now another 0.02 match, loss of only £1.38 on a £50 bet. Chuffed.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

This is not meant to be alarmist... but I have read reports recently of people being poisoned by taking vitamins - where you are gettingover 100% of RDA of certain nutrients they do more harm than good. Maybe Google the brands you are usingTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Er, good.. I think
Sounds like you're doing all the best things to get you back to health. I've been using an online calorie counter programme thingy (attempt to lose a little bit of weight, which isn't working at all) and as well as counting calories it tells you how much of each vitamin and mineral you've consumed. I was quite surprised to find out I was low on a fair few of them, thought I ate fairly well and would have it all covered!
The tidying and re-organising sounds very therapeutic as well, it's amazing how much better it can make you feelDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Seaxwyn - don't worry, its mainly vit a, which can lead to blindness at a very low "overdosage" rate. Vit c is water soluble, which will get flushed away, in other words, not stored. I've read those same reports, I think, and I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. I wouldn't take 2 multivits a day nowadays, for instance, but I'm sure I need some support at the moment. All concern gratefully received!
Redsquirrel - that made me laugh! It was good, don't worry, I consider 0.02 good value! Its free money, you know - does need a lot of getting-your-head-round it, and some bits are still competely foreign to me, but the basic get-free-money thing is fine by me. Isn't it amazing about our diets? I certainly get my 5 a day, usually 6 or 7, but last year I was too low on iron to be able to give blood, even tho I was within the normal range (they want you to have a high normal score, and I just had normal-normal).
The reorganising is lovely - therapeutic in itself, looks great when I'm done, and it declutters for when I eventually move house.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
