Well it sounds as if you should have good genes for longevity, giving you plenty of time to get debt-free then see the world.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Thats true on that side, good Lancashire stock! And I think I do take after that side. The Irish part is basically healthy too. But my grandmother on my dad's side died when she was 30, of cancer. Mind you, I'm long past 30, so I should be okay! Are you okay hun? How's the key hunt going?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

My matched bet today was freakier than I thought - checked my open bets history at betfair, and found I'd layed twice! Oh, it was bags of fun fixing that, I can tell you. And I'd written the wrong back rate on the gambling intro thread.... So I've backed more at PB, and am assuming I'll end up making about 60%, as opposed to 95%..... its better than a kick in the teeth...
Update Tues 29th: much better than I thought, on a WR of £93, I only lost £3.26 - for such a cack-handed situation, thats a bleeping miracle.
OTOH, I was expecting an email from SB with the last freebie bet, and they haven't obliged yet2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
1. Have fixed the computer virus problems that caused it to crash and caused the double lay last week. But in doing so, I've knackered my Excel software, so can't open the matcher, so can't do any more m.b.ing till I get that fixed.
2. Have downloaded Open Office, but not installed it yet, see if that will fix (1).
3. mystery shopping: my main source has bollixed up on the info for each new shop, so whereas I thought I had 3 easy phone calls this week, I can only do one
4. Haven't been detailed enough in the listing of the m.b. work, so am trying to catch up, but its a bit difficult. As in, hanging over a sixty foot drop by your toenails trying to sing opera....
5. Cos I'm a bit ... scatty.... when it comes to the detail really required for m.b.ing, I'm making a checklist to be followed each time I make a matched bet.
6. Am unravelling beloved cream pure wool jumper I knitted 30 years ago, from hand-spun wool bought in the Greek Islands (when Mykonos only had one disco!), so I can steam it to straighten it out and use it as self-colour decoration on huge curtains in lounge, to hide water staining from plants (nobody told me having plants on the windowsill that touched the curtains would eventually stain the curtains!). Using beloved-jumper to do this cos its scratchy, and cos the wool is handspun some of it is weak & has broken over the years in about 5 places - looks like giant moths have been at it, but they haven't. Not using that bit, anyway!
7. Bit of a declutter in the airing cupboard - v good, not "forbidden" to me any more, feels better.
8. Ogling oat-based recipes after crumble success, but not done anything yet. Watch this space....
Just realised - this was my 2000th post. How appropriate!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
HI Karma! Ugh tech problems, poor you.
I misread number 8 as 'ogling goat-based recipes'. Goat crumble, yum!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Tee-hee, goat-based recipes.... ooh, biggest yum in the world that!
Am despairing of ever sorting out how I made the profit at SB, I just can't reconcile it, so I'll have to make sure I always, always write down every transaction as I make it, & its effect on the balance sheet.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Why, why, why, in the name of all thats DFW:money: , did I ever buy half a dozen beautiful yellow dusters and put them in my airing cupboard?
Answers on a postcard to la-la land.
