You're right kdalwayskint, I just feel it is such small progress. I need something to concentrate on, or I am going to drive myself nuts. To a degree I wish I had organised it for this year so that I didn't have so long to wait but in reality I know I am being incredibly impatient. Energy levels (after meningitis) are seriously low at the moment too, so that does not help.
Spent £1300 on getting the back garden done this week too, hopefully it won't rain when they are supposed to get it done (artificial grass) on Thursday. Now need to concentrate on making a success of my new job, weight loss, and earning bonus!Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

A quick visit!
I need to find an alternative to a bridesmaid dress for H2B's eldest daughter (14 when we get married), she has said that she won't wear a dress. Not that we have discussed the wedding with them yet. I know the younger one will love wearing a pretty dress (12 when we get married).
Anyone have alternative dress ideas?

What time of year are you getting married? I forget. Maybe a nice jump suit?Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

How about a suit along the same lines as her dad,she could become an usher and still have a role to play.
Is it the "wedding" clothes that she is going to object to or is it case that she would rather choose her own dress?
Maybe she would rather choose something like a prom dress and even if its totally different in style and colour to the bridesmaids she could still be her dads supporter.
If she would rather just choose her own dress then go with it,not worth trying to find something that's shes not comfortable with wearing, presumably the important thing is that shes there to share the day.
The key thing is to not let her see that you are ruffled by any of her suggestions, she's just a normal teen making her own decisions....flow with her if you can.in S 38 T 2 F 50

Thanks guys, I was thinking maybe a jump suit.
She's a very strong minded young lady! H2B and the girls were looking at some old photos from when they were little (probably aged 3.5 & 1.5), they were wearing 'princess' dresses. She said something along the lines of never wearing a dress again!
We haven't talked about the wedding with them, so I haven't actually asked them to be bridesmaids yet. I just want to be prepared so I might print pictures for them of things I had in mind.
I've already asked my son to 'give me away' he's 20. He asked if I've spoken to Granddad about it, bless him, I'm sure my dad will be fine about it

Having a major anxiety over the wedding dress I have bought and whether I actually like the bottom or not...!!!!!!. Why did I buy a dress so soon? I have £200 put aside for alterations. Do I go out and try other dresses in case?Mtg Balance £147,000 : Savings £7,000 / £10,000

:A A friend of mine used Perfocal for their baby's birthday before and got some great photos, so I think it's definitely worth checking out. I'm not sure if they charge the same for weddings but for their party which was roughly 2hrs, they only spend something like £150.
hi there, any updates on the site you were mentioning? perfocal.com? thanks0 -
Hey everyone - long time no speak. I'm glad everyoneis makign some progress
I used some money to get a laptop but i've put it all back now.
Today I only just realized that the hall we'd like to book only allows us to use the entire hall on SATURDAYS! which doesn't really matter to me but the registry room we want goes up another £115 to have the ceremony on a saturday. So My budget would be £115 over , but i'd have enough for that next payday.
we've agreed that we won't book a date until I have the money to pay for our venue as well so then that's the 2 most important bits done the rest is food, photogrpaher, hair & make up for me & 3 bridesmaids etc.
I spoke to my f.h about keeping cider glass bottles so I can spray paint them and use as flower holders for our center pieces. He seems to fine with that. not got a lot of input but he's starting to come out with more stuff. Cheap & upcycling!
good luck everyone!Wedding Fund: £1107.23 / £2,500 Xmas'18: £100.00 / £300.00 Emergency Fund: £100.00 / £1,000H2B ISA: £30.500
