I am expecting a parcel if its late so what. My bin should have been emptied on Wednesday it hasnt so what. You have to make allowances this time of year everyone should
I'm expecting 2 parcels - RM signed for.
No post yesterday (hardly surprising as I'm currently on one of the first buses we've had past our house for almost 48 hours ) but the post van was here today.
Met the postie at the door with a 'anything for me' but only letters.
No big deal, my parcels were posted just before the snow started so they'll be stuck somewhere.
I did offer to make the postie a hot drink.:)
Should I be not happy!!?0 -
I planned ahead. I have wine so even if the delivery hadn't shown I'd have been happy!
:beer::beer:
I've just watched "Coco" with the sprog and I'm going to head into the kitchen, get the spices, oranges and wine out and make myself a pan of mulled wine. She gets to have her favourite - the really warm crusty 1st slice from the loaf that's just come out of the bread machine. All is good! :j0 -
Not seen my postie for a few days, should i be sad?
Nooo he only brings me bills anyway
Although he did deliver a package that was ripped open at one end, my items could have fallen out and got lost. Should i ask for compensation?
Or be glad the items didnt fall out and land on his toe, the items were fairly heavy.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

About as unhappy as I am that Amazon Prime aren't likely to deliver any time soon - predicted delivery for orders placed today is Monday rather than tomorrow. I pay for a next day service but sometimes crap happens and I'm certainly not going to stomp my feet or threaten to take my business elsewhere over it. I'll just slurp my mulled wine, snuggle up on the sofa with the sprog and enjoy our pyjama day.0 -
Original post for anyone interested:Okay, so this is a bit of a rant I'm afraid.
. Before I rant I do agree that this weather is totally awful for those who are still trying to get to work and generally get on with life and I don't expect anyone to risk life and limb for me - I'm lucky, I'm retired and I am very grateful for that (having done my bit in previous years getting to work in snow, fog, flood etc - you get the picture?) Now I'll rant.. On Wednesday 28th Feb I had a Waitrose delivery booked for 10-11 am so when it got to 11.15, having made a reasonable allowance for weather delays, I rang the Waitrose shop that deals with deliveries in my area to be told that they had cancelled all deliveries for that day, no rescheduling was available but customers could collect their orders from the store if they wished. I pointed out that if they felt they couldn't get to me, how did they expect me to get to them? The guy at the other end of the phone sounded bored and barely apologised.. Apparently they had called all customers.. ahh but obviously not me though, I live in a village and my mobile signal wasn't good with the weather and they hadn't bothered to try my landline. I would have accepted it with better grace if I hadn't seen Sainsburys delivering to a near neighbour not 20 mins earlier, and if Tesco hadn't been in my area that morning. The most annoying part however is that they had taken the money for my order from my account -£130 odd gone and nothing to show, taken instantly as it always is and I was told it would be refunded (duh, of course it would be if they had broken their contract to deliver my order!) but would take 5-7 days. WHY?? It instantly disappeared from my account so why can't they reverse the process, the guy said "It's not us, it's the bank"... Really? Their bank or mine? In this day and age this should not be the case should it? Is it me?? About 10 mins later a survey for Waitrose dropped into my inbox, and even though revenge is a dish best served cold I completed it immediately.. it made me feel better. Needless to say I shan't shop with them again. If I need something that only seems to be available from them I shall substitute or see if I can find it online. Luckily I still had money in my account to shop with, so I went straight to the Sainsburys website and placed an order for yesterday, which turned up with no issues in spite of the conditions being worse than Wednesday and loads of road closures due to snow. Ignoring the freezing wind the driver had the biggest smile, and he was working his day off to help out!! Anyway, rant over, all I have to do now is monitor my bank account for the refund courtesy of the Waitrose Customer "dont" Care team. Well done Sainsburys, credit where it's due:T0 -
Well having read the OP then, yes, I'd have hoped Waitrose would have called.
Beyond that I have all the major supermarkets within a mile/2 miles of where I live. All journeys would be different dependent on their location.
I am lucky that I, too, would have been able to order elsewhere, if it turned out that I had to. Given the adverse conditions I wouldn't have felt the need to rant about it, though. Point taken from an earlier post about someone not being able to but that's on the banking system not Waitrose (or, indeed, any other supermarket)0 -
Boils down to the fact the OP should have ordered earlier than Wednesday 28th.
I knew this weather was coming last week, so I stocked up on somethings beforehand.
Unfortunately all businesses run systems which takes a few days to put the money back into peoples accounts.
If you want the cash to stay with you then go and get it in person.
As for another supermarket doing the delivery but another could not, perhaps they consider the welfare of thier drivers to come first.
As for not shopping with Waitrose ever again, I've heard that from from people I know. Within weeks they were shopping with them again. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!

I can imagine.
People are just getting more and more selfish. And I blame the internet. It makes us believe that everything is at our fingertips. Peoples attitudes are outrageous. They want everything and want it now. Screw everybody else.
Was reading a thread on this very sub board about naked wines. how disgraceful it was that the wine did not arrive between 7-9pm while they had people there to taste the wine !!!!!!!!!!
It also as if a company dare not make a profit, if they do its how dare they. people want cheap goods be it food or what ever. But they expect to get paid min wage for their own job but screw the person trying to make a living selling the products.
And then there are the people who think they know there rights. Like they have to sell that product to me at that price. Umm nope don't have to sell you a damn thing at any price.
A lot of very self centered selfish people. I have a name for them. meme's as the word me not meme if that makes sense
Yours
Calley X
