In order for the companies to get the fees reversed on the original debit they have to reverse the charge. It really doesn't take that long... They also don't have the OP's bank details to do a faster payment, just the card details.
Regardless of how it is done it really should not take 5 days to do it.0 -

'up to 5 days' It is usually much quicker.0 -
I'm in total agreement with you there.happyandcontented wrote: »Regardless of how it is done it really should not take 5 days to do it.
Wouldnt be so funny if it was a pensioner down to the few pence of their pension and needing to source food from another place so they can eat.

I live just on the outskirts of a town in the south (less than 3 miles). Just a "flurry" of snow had been forecast for this area. I have been completely snowed in for two days now, nothing's moving. The local roads are like an ice rink and I doubt whether me or my neighbours will be able to get out until Sunday at the earliest.
Perhaps I should be complaining to the Council that the bins haven't been collected as they should have been yesterday, or RM because the post van/person can't navigate their way round.
The selfishness of some people is beyond belief.
Just checked on one of my neighbours because I know that she relies on delivery for her shopping and I hadn't seen anybody. Her response? "Don't worry dear, I'm warm, have sufficient goodies to get me through the next few days. It's those poor police and army folks dealing with idiots who go out in this who I feel sorry for".0 -
I've missed the OP, though I've got the gist. There was ample warning that had weather was due this week, so why not plan ahead? My (elderly) parents did their weekly food shop a day earlier than usual. I did mine first thing yesterday morning when I could see it was worsening. I wouldn't expect a delivery driver to risk himself driving on poor roads or carrying heavy boxes up icy driveways and I definitely wouldn't rely on it.0

I can imagine.
People are just getting more and more selfish. And I blame the internet. It makes us believe that everything is at our fingertips. Peoples attitudes are outrageous. They want everything and want it now. Screw everybody else.
Was reading a thread on this very sub board about naked wines. how disgraceful it was that the wine did not arrive between 7-9pm while they had people there to taste the wine !!!!!!!!!!
It also as if a company dare not make a profit, if they do its how dare they. people want cheap goods be it food or what ever. But they expect to get paid min wage for their own job but screw the person trying to make a living selling the products.
And then there are the people who think they know there rights. Like they have to sell that product to me at that price. Umm nope don't have to sell you a damn thing at any price.
A lot of very self centered selfish people. I have a name for them. meme's as the word me not meme if that makes sense

I planned ahead. I have wine so even if the delivery hadn't shown I'd have been happy!

I think that is down to the individual retailer and how good their systems are and how good their banks are. It should be a mandated time period and not left up to the store.
Saying "up to five days" and actually I have seen longer timescales applied by quite well-known outlets, gives them carte blanche to do as they please.
Even the DD return timescale is ridiculous unless you claim under the DD guarantee scheme.
Some years ago we had two mortgage payments taken in error and the timescale given for return was up to 15 working days to fit with their banking schedule!! Needless to say we used the DD chargeback and it was in our account the next day, but they didn't want us to do that as it messed up their systems.
Indeed it did mess their systems up as they then said we were in arrears because on their system chargeback had overlapped with their putting a repayment request in.0 -

Is it just me - or does anyone else think its a real poor show when a poster doesnt hear what they want to hear so deletes their OP and all of their responses ...0
