Well, there you go ValiantSon. You are beyond help. I have tried to help you but failed. Bye-bye.0

Huh? The post you quoted already contained a quote of what you said, and was in direct response to that quote.
Ok I'll put it in simpler language just for you.
I originally linked to the account, Virgin Money Essential Current Account but not to the type of account, single or joint. In response to that post you posted "Why? This will link them financially on their credit files which is exactly what the OP wants to avoid, so I'm not sure why it would be the best option?" My point is therefore that they would only be financially linked through my suggestion if I had suggested a joint account which I did not do.
Typically accounts are available in different forms, i.e. single and joint.0 -

Or, you could just drop the sarcasm and read the opening post of the thread before responding to it.
As your post was made on this thread, one would assume that it was intended to make some contribution to it, rather than just randomly posting an advert to Virgin Money for no reason on a random post.
I viewed your comment in the context of the thread as a whole, as I imagine most people would - hence my surprise that you thought it was the best option for the OP:The best option is a Virgin Money Essential Current Account.0 -

Now you're accusing me of advertising Virgin Money because I recommended them. That must mean that everyone who recommends a bank is also advertising. Good grief you have your work cut out if that's the case. Ok Mod, ban everyone for advertising ROFL.
The rest of your post about my post which you objected to has already been simplified and explained and does not require any further comment from me.0 -
I want to thank those members who offered some practical responses to my original post. I will look at all of them and consider which is best for us.
However I was disgusted by those people who continued to use this thread for a point scoring, 'I can shout louder than you' type argument. Despite my request to stop, the argument carried on.

Robinwren is actually correct in that this thread did in fact go off on a tangent by people who were obviously out to score points and win in contrast to simply posting useful information which I tried to do.
However it was funny that Earthboy posted a quote from terms and conditions which confirmed the presence of an overdraft and then in the same post denied the presence of an overdraft. That probably more than anything illustrates the wacky nature of attempted point scoring in this thread.
But to be fair to everyone including those attempted point scorers, the question in the Opening Post was answered quite early in this thread.0
