EarthBoy has posted a link to a document where it does say exactly that!

And yet you continue to argue because you just cannot ever admit that you are wrong! This is exactly what I predicted would happen in post #24.

I also knew that you wouldn't apologise (for either of the things you have said and done in this thread for which you owe people, including me, an apology).

There is no point discussing things with people like you because you aren't open to learning anything, but rather will insist that you are always right. Can your ego really be that fragile?

As with the last debate about metro bank you have no argument of your own and you resort to personal attack. As I posted in that thread resorting to personal attack in a debate is highly frowned upon. My advice is don't join a debating group! There is no need for you to refer to the arguments which Earthboy has posted: I have read them and replied to them.

Just been watching Question Time on TV, where, as usual, various politicians shamelessly offer evasive non-answers to direct questions and twist logic to try to squirm around inconvenient truths. Does anyone happen to know where a new member might be found to join the BBC panel? ;)

    This comment is deluded.

I have a very clear argument and you have been proven wrong. What you construe as a personal attack is not. I have simply pointed out that you refuse to ever admit that you are wrong, even in the face of evidence that shows you are. I get that you don't like being wrong, but that isn't my problem. You lost the argument and now you need to accept it and move on. You look foolish to keep trying to argue a point that has been disproven. Your attempts to divert attention from your own failings by suggesting that I shouldn't get involved in debates are laughable. I argued that you were wrong and provided evidence to show it. Others provided further evidence to show that you were wrong too, and still you carry on. Frankly, it's pathetic.

Thank you for your advice, but given the paucity of your skills in this matter, I shan't be taking you up on it.
Next time you make a crass and unsubstantiated comment that is challenged and then roundly rebutted, try having the good grace to admit your mistakes. Your attitude and your intransigence is only indicative of your failings when it comes to debating, not mine.

I've just come online and was excited to see so many responses to my original post and so could not wait to read all the helpful information and advice.

But No. I find that some people have hijacked my thread to have some kind of an argument which had probably stopped genuine advice givers from reading on.

    Thanks a lot!!

Yet more personal attacks without any contribution to the thread at all. As I said, don't join a debating group.

I have not been disproved. Let me make a last ditch attempt in the face of people who have obviously gone into denial to the effect that they cannot see the facts.

    OK.

    No overdraft so no fee.

But there is an overdraft. It is clearly stated in the Barclay's Ts & Cs relating to their basic bank account that Earthboy quoted that overdrawn accounts must be repaid immediately.

So why is there a statement in the Ts & Cs about repaying an overdraft immediately when there is no overdraft? The answer is there is an overdraft !

    Ok.

Why would Barclays post a fees table on the Basic Bank Account information page when there are no fees? The answer must be there are fees !

Lastly it is generally accepted in this thread that banks where only a basic bank account is held do report to the CRAs. Why would they report to the CRAs when there is no credit? The answer is there is credit or in other words an overdraft.

    And goodnight Larry !

You continue to ignore all of the evidence that does prove you wrong.

No point carrying on because you are in denial.

That's ridiculous. What I have posted hasn't been conjured out of the wide blue yonder ! It's not a figment of my imagination either ! It's based on documentary evidence part of which incidentally was posted by Earthboy himself and which is linked from this thread and is available for all to see !

Actually what has been posted proves me right which incredibly you then claim proves me wrong. Now who's in denial?

Sadly, that is becoming more prevalent.

Heng Leng's post 8 offered a possible solution.

Coventry's MoneyManager account doesn't come with a debit card. It offers direct debit and standing order facilities and an ATM card, but no debit card.

If I were the OP I would continue to operate separate bank accounts.

Lots of couples don't have a joint account.

With app and online banking it's quick and easy to move money between accounts.

There are even apps, such as Cirlcle, which offer chat and bill splitting facilities.

    Only in your imaginary world.
