Good afternoon one & all,
Having put out a note for the milkman on a snow free doorstep, about two inches of snow came down & covered the note - so our lovely milkman put our milk on the note:(:(:(
Oh well, try again on Friday!
Have had about three snow flurries this morning lasting between 10 & 25 minutes each time with brilliant sunshine in between:o and it is now 2:20 p.m. & getting very dark so probably more snow:o
Unfortunately two inches of snow seems to have defeated Tower Hamlets as our bin men have not yet turned up:mad:& I have a full bin:(
My DH’s reward for all his hard work yesterday, has been changed to coconut biccies & a loaf of bread instead of a fruit cake:rotfl: Same problem with the ordinary bread as with the Focaccia- the bottom wasn’t cookedSo turned upside down & put back in for 10 minutes - no idea if it tastes OK (will report later). So more expense as I don’t know if I am not leaving the bread in long enough or if the thermostat on my 3 year old oven is broken - DH is ordering an oven thermometer so time will tell:(. The biccies look great though:T
DH decided he would wash down the woodwork rather than making a trip to the tip in the snow so I was let off:j
Whilst DH is painting I will be ironing but first bread, cheese & pickle with a mug of coffee. :j DH has given the bread his seal of approval (recipe on side of yeast tin) :j Apart from the problem with the cooking time/oven temperature, this ordinary loaf is my best one (used the tip from another thread of putting a tray of water on the bottom shelf) :j
Sun is shining & I am signing off but before I go - HollyHarvey I am so pleased that you have a good GP who has helped put a plan in place for your treatment. Fingers crossed that you will improve enough so that no hospital stay will be required. Yippee, common sense has triumphed.

Hi all
Deleted_User Happy Anniversary.
Specky I think the feedback was very positive, hopefully the right job will come along soon.
Snow showers here today but will be our turn for the real stuff tomorrow. I live rurally on top of a hill so am prepared to stay in, I do not want to risk a fall. Good result today as I have sold 10 Beatrix Potter models at the Antique centre today. Profit!!0 -
Just back in after clearing our path and putting salt down, we have had some serious snowfall over the last few hours and it’s laying thick on the ground, sun is shining at the moment but it’s bitterly cold at -4. Have a cup of choc Ovaltine to try and warm my hands up.
Good news from the appointment this morning NW.
Happy Anniversary to the Csarinas.0 -
NAN I can feel your relief. Good news for now xx
DD rang to see if I had milk to spare at lunch time. I said yes as I stocked up on Monday just in case we were snowed in. She had run out and as we were snowbound she had no chance of getting anywhere to get some. So her and 2 youngest DGDs walked up and scrounged a 4 pint bottle! She went back down home with some toilet rolls, a pizza, a bag of grated cheese, some Scotch pancakes, as well as the milk. She said she felt like I was running a food bank!
Our road finally got the snowplough up, followed by the gritter, mid afternoon so, for now, we are not cut off. The road still looks hazardous though. Now awaiting the next blizzard to cut us off again!
Have a nice evening folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Happy Anniversary Csarina.
Holly onwards and upwards, my friend; you have all your OS friends rooting for you, so you will get there.
MaddieMay healing vibes on the way for Miss Border Collie's poorly leg.I keep dreaming I'm pregnant again. Three nights in a row. Totally impossible of course but I'd like to know if there's a reason.Mrs_Salad_Dodger wrote: »Having put out a note for the milkman on a snow free doorstep, about two inches of snow came down & covered the note - so our lovely milkman put our milk on the note:(:(:(

We popped out to Herr A to do a quick shop today rather than leave it til tomorrow - just in case we're knee-deep in nasty cold white stuff by morning. So we have a good supply of milk (I also have some dried in the cupboard). Bonus of going today is that it goes on the February budget, of which, even after shopping today we still have £17 and change left, leaving March's grocery budget intact for now. :TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I regard dream images as allegorical - is there something in your life that is due to come to fruition some time soon? Or something you'd really really like to come to fruition? No settled snow here in Blackpool - the odd flurry that thinks it is a blizzard, but the wind just blows it around. It was -4.5 at 7.30am on my way to work and -3 at 4pm when I left for home.
Our window cleaner has been today and left a small amount of ice on the 3 steps into the house, so I have chucked a load of salt onto it so I don't go @rse over t!t on my way out to work in the morning!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Snowed heavily so the plans for my Birthday have been postponed. Last time I remember having snow on my Birthday was way back in 1963 when the igloo we made was still useable for me to have my birthday cake with six friends !!!10035;!!!65039;!!!10035;!!!65039;!!!10035;!!!65039;!!!10035;!!!65039;!!!10035;!!!65039;!!!10035;!!!65039;0

Hope everyone stays safe and warm. Hugs to all and thank you for listening to me moan/rant. You really are all such lovely people on here :A:A.
They certainly are, as are the Fencers...The OS board is a place of refuge in a rather harsh world.
I've not much to say for myself but wishing you all well.
So many with so much to deal with...take care all x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
